NEET 2022 candidate alleges irregularities in OMR sheet

NEET 2022: While the NEET 2022 result is scheduled to be out tomorrow, September 7, a candidate in Chennai has approached the Madras High Court for the alleged irregularities in disclosing the Optical Mark Reader answer (OMR) sheet by NTA.

The petitioner named KM Bhavamirthne’s counsel mentioned the case before Justice R Subramaniam on Monday to hear it as an emergency one. The judge agreed to hear the case on Tuesday, as reported by DT Next.

The petitioner alleged that she appeared in NEET 2022 on July 17 and the OMR answer sheet which was given to her on August 31 was not the one she had filled out during the examination.

The petitioner sought direction to the Central government and National Testing Agency (NTA) to produce her original OMR (Optical Mark Reading) answer sheet and office copy of the OMR answer sheet as well as to allot an MBBS seat in any of the medical colleges in Tamil Nadu.

Citing that the NEET 2022 exam results will be published on September 7, the petitioner said that she was confident that she would have scored more than 600 marks. “Hence I am put into irreparable loss and hardship,” she added.

"Though she answered 187 questions out of the 200, the National Testing Agency (NTA) which had conducted the exam had issued an OMR answer sheet saying that she had answered only 140 questions," the petition added further.

NEET 2022 result to be declared tomorrow

Along with the NEET 2022 result, the final answer key and merit list will also be released by the NTA. Once the results are out, the candidates who have appeared for the NEET UG 2022 exam can check and download the result on the official website- neet.nta.nic.in.

They can download the scorecard on the official website- using log-in credentials- application number, and date of birth. Once the scorecard is displayed onscreen, one should download and take a printout for future references.
