Once the NEET 2023 final answer key is released, candidates will come to know whether their submitted challenges have been validated by NTA or not. Moreover, they may also check the answer options of questions which showed 5 as the correct answer option. For such questions, candidates will get a bonus of four marks. However, there is a caveat. In case all the answer options were wrong or the question itself was framed wrongly, every candidate would get full marks. On the other hand, if multiple answer options were found correct, then only those candidates who attempted the question will get marks.

The total marks in NEET is 720 and students often wonder, what is a good score in NEET? It would depend on various factors such as your performance, vis-a-is your preparation tenure. Despite the Tamil Nadu government aiming to ban NEET, it has been observed that the AIR 1 Prabanjan J is from the state. Moreover, there are as many as six candidates from the state among the top 50 rankers, which is the highest-ever tally. As per records, in 2019 and 2021, the state did not have any representation among the top 50 ranks.

Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is soon expected to release the NEET 2023 counselling schedule for admission to 15 per cent All India Quota (AIQ) seats and the State Authorities will conduct the NEET counselling for the 85 per cent State Quota seats. There will be most likely four rounds of counselling and the number may increase or decrease based on the seat vacancy.

As per the statistics shared by NTA, the states from which a high number of candidates have qualified include Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Gujarat.

The NEET 2023 merit lists can be divided into three types:

Overall merit list: This merit list includes the names and ranks of all the candidates who appeared for NEET. This is the first merit list and is prepared by NTA. This merit list will be forwarded to all counselling bodies, both national and state.

15 per cent AIQ merit list: This merit list will contain the names of only those candidates who would qualify for the NEET 2023 result. This merit list is prepared by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

State quota merit list: Every state will prepare their merit lists for admissions to 85 per cent of state quota seats. These merit lists will include only those candidates who will qualify for NEET result 2023 and register for the counselling of that respective state.

National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the merit list of the candidates based on the NEET result. Multiple lists are released based on the category of the candidate. An overall NEET merit list is also released which has details of all the candidates who have cleared the examination. The merit lists of NEET are then shared by the NTA with the different bodies responsible for the NEET counselling process. Based on these lists, MCC and various counselling authorities will prepare their seat allotment lists.

The NEET 2023 cutoff has increased as compared to last year. The category-wise NEET 2023 cutoffs are given below:

According to NTA, as many as 11,45,976 candidates have qualified for NEET 2023 out of 20,38,596 candidates who had appeared for the exam.

The following parameters are considered in the case of tie-in NEET scores:

f. Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Chemistry in the test, followed by

g. Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Physics in the test.

Till 2022, NTA considered the factors like candidates older in age and application number in descending order. These criteria have been removed for NEET 2023.

The formula mentioned below is used to calculate the NEET percentile score:

NEET Percentile = 100 x Number of candidates with their raw score equal to/ less than the candidate

The result date for NEET always causes anxiousness among the test-takers. Not knowing the NEET result date can also cause the same effect. To help figure out the date for the NEET result, candidates can refer to the past years' trends here.

As stated before, a fake NEET 2023 result website and posts are doing rounds on the internet. All India JEE-NEET Student Association has warned students against this website and related posts.

With the help of the NEET 2023 answer keys, candidates will have to count the total number of wrong answers given. After that, they will have to multiply four with the total number of correct answers and then deduct the total number of wrong answers given. The formula is given below:

Total marks in NEET= (Number of correct responses) x4 - (Number of incorrect responses) x1

Candidates should first note down the number of correct and incorrect responses submitted by them in the NEET 2023 OMR sheet with the help of the answer keys. Once they have the number of correct and incorrect responses, they can use the formula given below to calculate the marks obtained in NEET 2023.

Total marks in NEET= (Number of correct responses) x4 - (Number of incorrect responses) x1

Using the above formula candidates can calculate their marks in NEET 2023, which can be further used to estimate the rank.

NTA has stated the resolution for situations wherein it is discovered in the NEET answer key that all answer options are incorrect, or a question has more than one correct answer. The resolutions are given below:

• If more than one option is found to be correct then Four marks (+4) will be awarded to only those who have marked any of the correct options. 
• If none of the options is found correct or a Question is found to be wrong or a Question is dropped then all candidates who have appeared will be given four marks (+4) irrespective of the fact whether the question has been attempted or not attempted by the candidate.

In the NEET 2023 provisional answer key, NTA has announced that there is one question with two correct answer options. The question is given below.

A. Insertion of recombinant DNA into the host cell
B. Cutting of DNA at specific location by restriction enzyme

Based on the NEET 2023 provisional answer key released by NTA, one of the questions has been dropped owing to not having the correct answer option. The question is given below:
