NEET 2024 Application: Official Website Marred with Technical Glitches; Candidates Urge NTA to Respond
The NEET 2024 application process is marred with multiple technical glitches. Candidates are facing server errors in terms of login process, fee payment, and completion of the form filling process. Adding to the woes, the NTA Helpline Number or email id is also unresponsive. Know the details here.
Ever since the NEET 2024 application forms were released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on February 9, several candidates have faced difficulties in completing the process. The NEET application form 2024, which is now available at the new website, www.neet.ntaonline.in, does not provide a seamless experience to candidates.
In the first instance, the registration and login process is inconvenient, as it takes multiple attempts to log in. Moreover, during the NEET 2024 application process, the website automatically logs out a candidate or the website crashes. Talking about her experience, Sumedha Sharma, a NEET 2024 aspirant said, “It took me more than three days to complete the NEET 2024 application process. After every few minutes, I was getting logged out automatically and the login process was tedious. The experience was challenging and disappointing.”
NEET 2024 Application Fee Paid but Not Confirmed by NTA
NEET form fee payment is the last step of the application form and the most crucial one. Successful fee payment ensures completion of the NEET application process, which is validated by a confirmation mail from NTA. However, despite the successful transaction, NTA did not confirm the application fee payment or the application process completion. This has caused anxiety and multiple payments for several applicants.
Difficulty in Logging in to NEET 2024 Website
Successfully registered candidates are unable to logging due to server error. Even after login, the screen displays server error and a prompt appears to enter candidates’ Aadhaar Number and validate with OTP sent to their mobile number.
While entering Aadhaar Number is not mandatory, this compulsory prompt has confused and disappointed many applicants. “I had chosen PAN Card as my Identity Type and have submitted my PAN Number. Despite that, I have been forced to enter my Aadhaar Number and despite validating my OTP, the pop-up window is repeatedly appearing on screen, preventing me from checking the payment status or visiting any other section of the application form,” told Reyansh Mathur, another NEET 2024 applicant.
Candidates Redirected to Other Candidate’s Account
Some of the candidates are also facing a strange scenario where they are redirected to other candidates’ accounts, despite logging in through their accounts. Asif, a NEET 2024 applicant has posted on X, “Error in my NEET application form 2024. Getting other girl's details in my NEET form when I log in through my Aadhaar Number.”
Unresponsive NTA Helpline Number and Email ID
The NTA Helpline Number and email are of no assistance to distressed candidates as the number is either not connected, or IVRS is stating, “All our executives are currently busy. Please try after some time.”
NEET 2024 applicant Reyansh says, “I tried calling the NTA Helpline multiple times but to no avail. No matter how many times or what time of the day I call, nobody is available to take my calls. I have also sent emails and have not got any reply. I don’t know what to do as I have paid the fee and still, my application status is incomplete. What if I am not allowed to appear for the test?”
With the technical difficulties faced at multiple levels and no guidance or assistance from NTA, it is getting increasingly difficult for candidates to complete the NEET 2024 application process, or get confirmation of the same.
The last date to apply for NEET 2024 is March 9, 5 PM and the application fee has to be paid by 11.50 PM on the same date. The exam will be conducted on May 5, 2024, in 554 cities across India.
