NEET 2024: President Murmu Vows Strict Punishment for Guilty; Ensures Probe at Highest Level

President Droupadi Murmu addressed the joint sitting of Parliament on Thursday regarding several areas of attention along with the NEET 2024 controversy. During the speech, President Murmu discussed the alleged irregularities in the NEET UG 2024 exam including paper leaks, grace marks and result controversy.
She assured that the CBI investigation on the NEET paper leak will enable accountability and emphasise the need for sanctity and transparency in the national-level examinations. Further, the President urges the opposition to rise above politics and focus on solutions.

CBI Actively Probing NEET Paper Leak Controversy
President Murmu, while addressing both houses at the 18th Lok Sabha, ratified that the Central Bureau of Investigation )CBI0 is actively investigating the NEET paper leak controversy and strict actions will be taken against the culprits.
"Cases of paper leaks and irregularities in exams are being probed at a high level. Sanctity and transparency are a must in government recruitments and examinations," she stated.
President Murmu further mentioned that the government is doing their best effort to rectify the functioning of the National Testing Agency (NTA) along with improving the examination process.
Meanwhile, Two students from Meerut, who secured 705 and 690 marks in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2024 exam have urged Supreme Court to disregard the Re-NEET proposal. The petitioner said that the NEET 2024 re-exam is 'Unethical' and unfair to hard-working students.
