The following fields cannot be edited in the NEET application form once submitted:

Even though NTA provides NEET application correction facility, candidates may not be able to edit each and every detail entered in the application form. The list of editable fields is given below:

• Choice of exam city and medium
• Qualification and passing year
• Parent's name (either father or mother's name can be changed)

The facility of Scribe and/or compensatory time shall be granted solely to those having difficulty in writing or 40 per cent benchmark difficulty subject to the production of a certificate to the effect that the person concerned has limitation to write and that Scribe is essential to write the examination on his/her behalf from the competent medical authority of a Government healthcare institution. Compensatory time of not less than 20 minutes per hour of the examination should be allowed for persons who are eligible for getting a Scribe.

Applicants will have to follow the steps given below to complete the NEET 2024 application form.

• Click on the ‘New Candidate’ Register tab
• Read the instructions and click on the checkbox and ‘Click to Proceed’ tab
• Select the Identification Type
• Enter the mandatory details and verify
• Enter the OTP and Submit
• Once the Username and Password is generated, login to fill the NEET 2024 application form
• Fill up the mandatory fields
• Upload the requisite documents in the specified sizes and dimensions

NTA has laid down the following advisory regarding the NEET 2024 application form document upload:

i. The recent photograph should be either in colour or black and white with 80% face (without mask) visible including ears against a white background.
ii. Scanned photograph, signature, and Left and Right-hand Fingers and Thumb impression should be in JPG format (clearly legible).
iii. The size of the scanned passport photograph should be between 10 kb to 200 kb (clearly legible).
iv. The size of the scanned Postcard photograph (4”x6”) should be between 10 kb - 200 kb (clearly legible).
v. The size of the scanned signature should be between 4 kb to 30 kb (clearly legible)
vi. The size of scanned and Left and Right-hand Fingers and Thumb impressions as per the Template provided (Appendix-XVIII) should be between 10 kb to 200 kb.
vii. The size of the scanned copy of the PwBD certificate/UDID (Swavlamban) card should be between 50 kb to 300 kb (clearly legible).

While creating the NEET 2024 registration password, candidates should keep in mind the following factors:

• It should be at least eight characters
• It should have at least one capital letter
• It should have at least one special character

  Code 06	The candidate has a BSc degree from a recognised university with two or more of the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology)/Biotechnology. He/ she must have passed Class 12 with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
  Code 07	The candidate has passed an examination that is equivalent to the Intermediate Science Examination with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology. or The candidate has completed the qualifying examination from a foreign University

No, there is hardly any chance for NTA to extend the NEET 2024 application form last date any further. NTA  has stated, "Candidates should note that this is a one-time opportunity, so they are advised to use it carefully as no further chance will be given for applying for NEET (UG) - 2024. Please make a note of this and fill the online Application Form accordingly."

Regarding NEET 2024 important dates regarding upcoming events, NTA has announced, "The dates for correction in particulars, Advance Intimation of Examination City, downloading of Admit Cards, and declaration of Result will be displayed on the NEET(UG) (Main) portal at the appropriate time."

Announcing the extension of the NEET 2024 application last date, NTA has stated on the official notification, "Registration for the online Application Forms of NEET (UG) – 2024 has been ongoing since 09 February 2024. During this time we have received representations from stakeholders regarding the changes in NEET (UG) – 2024 and the extension of the registration window. In support of the student community, the registration for receiving online Application Forms for NEET (UG) - 2024 is extended."

Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), and Foreign Nationals are eligible for admission in Medical /Dental Colleges subject to rules and regulations framed by the respective State Governments, Institutions, and the Government of India, as the case may be. The NRI and OCI Applicants/Candidates have to upload a Certificate from the concerned Indian Diplomatic Mission in the country of their residence in support of their claim as an NRI/OCI Candidate, along with their online Application Form for NEET (UG) - 2024 and retain the original of such document for producing it at the time of Counselling / Admission to the Courses covered under NEET (UG).

NTA has extended the last date of NEET 2024 registration till March 16, 10.50 PM. The application fee has to be paid by 11.50 PM on the same date. NTA has stated, "Candidates should note that this is a one-time opportunity, so they are advised to use it carefully as no further chance will be given for applying for NEET (UG) - 2024. Please make a note of this and fill the online Application Form accordingly."

NEET 2024 exam will be conducted in 568 cities across India and abroad. The NEET exam centres will be located in 554 cities across India and 14 cities across the world. 

The NEET 2024 application form will be completed in one hour. As per the official notification of NEET 2024, the registration process will end at 9 PM today.

Last year, NTA received a total of 20.87 lakh applications for NEET 2023, out of which 20.38 lakh candidates appeared for the exam. The NEET 2023 application saw an increase of around 10 per cent. This year, the number is expected to exceed last year's number.

It is expected that like last year, NTA will provide an application correction window for NEET 2024 as well after the conclusion of the application process. Candidates can edit or correct the wrong details entered within the NEET application process within the stipulated dates. 

No, candidates are not given the option to select medical courses or colleges while filling the NEET 2024 application form. This facility will be given to candidates during the NEET counselling registration process. In the NEET application form, candidates have to fill in the details regarding personal, communication, academic and NEET exam choice related information. 

Candidates are advised to check and ensure that they fulfil the NEET 2024 eligibility criteria before filling up the NEET application form. While candidates will be able to submit the application form if they fill up the mandatory details, but during the verification process, if it is found out that the candidate does not meet the eligibility criteria, then his/her candidature will be cancelled. 

In case the NEET 2024 application fee amount is deducted from the account but there is no confirmation from NTA, candidates should wait for a while, or login again and check the application status. If it says incomplete, then they should complete the process. In case the payment process is incomplete but the amount is deducted, it will be refunded to the account. In case of further difficulty, they should contact the NTA Helpline to seek help. 

If the NEET application form is left idle for 30 minutes after logging in, the session will expire. In case the session expires due to loss of internet connection, then the form will be saved till the last completed section. In case candidates were in the middle of a section and it was not saved, then they will have to restart it. Unless candidates fill the NEET form at the last moment, they should not worry about the session expiry. Hence, candidates are advised to fill the NEET 2024 application form well on time and not wait for the last moment to complete it. 

Some of the common mistakes to avoid while filling the NEET 2024 application form are as follows:

• Not reading the instructions carefully before filling the registration and application form.
• Not providing correct information in the NEET application form, which may lead to cancellation of candidature.
• Not uploading proper documents in the given format or dimension. Unless the documents are uploaded in proper format and dimension, the application process will not proceed.
• Not paying the application fee on time. Candidates often wait till the last moment to pay the NEET application fee and owing to technical glitches, they tend to miss the deadline, leading to an incomplete application. 

No, the NEET application form or documents do not need to be sent by post. The process has to be completed online. 

No, in case a dropper candidate is applying, he or she does not need to upload a gap certificate in the NEET application form. However, he/she must fulfil the eligibility criteria of the exam. 

While there is no hard and fast rule against filling the NEET application form from a cyber cafe, it is not recommended since several personal and confidential information and documents have to be entered and uploaded, using a public computer which is accessed by many may lead to data theft or forgery. Even if a candidate is compelled to visit a cyber cafe to fill the NEET application form, he/she must logout and delete the documents after submitting the form. 

If a candidate completes the NEET application form at one go and has all the required information ready, then the process will take approximately 40 to 50 minutes in total. However, given the fact that the NEET2024 application website frequently logs out the applicants, the total duration of application may be much higher. 

No, it is not necessary to complete the NEET application process at one go. After completing each section, candidates have to save it and proceed. In case they have to leave, then should save and then login once again to resume the process.

Nationality: Candidates must be citizens of India. Non-resident Indians (NRI) and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) are also eligible to appear for NEET if they wish to pursue MBBS or any other courses accepting NEET scores, from an institute in India.

Age Limit: Candidates must have attained the age of 17 years at the time of admission or will attain the same by December 31, 2024. Accordingly, the minimum date of birth of candidates should be December 31, 2007. There is no upper age limit for NEET.

Educational and Qualifying Marks Criteria: Candidates must have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English subjects individually in the qualifying examination. The qualifying aggregate for General, General-PWD and Reserved category candidates is 50 per cent, 45 per cent and 40 per cent respectively

The eligibility criteria for NEET 2024 has been revised. Yes, as per the revised eligibility criteria for NEET 2024, students from Open School can register for NEET 2024. The Supreme Court emphasized that all open schools recognised by CBSE and State Education Boards will now be acknowledged by the National Medical Council (NMC) for NEET purposes. Consequently, candidates who have completed their 10+2 education from open schools will now be eligible to appear for the examination.

No, there is no upper age limit for appearing in NEET 2024. Till 2021, the upper age limit was 25 years, which was quashed as per a ruling by the Supreme Court of India. 

According to the NEET UG 2024 eligibility criteria, the minimum age limit of candidates should be 17 years. Candidates below 17 years of age will not be eligible to appear for the exam. However, there is no upper age limit for appearing in NEET 2024.
