NBE NEET MDS 2024: The demand to postpone NEET MDS 2024 exam is getting stronger with AIMSA appealing to union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya to intervene and defer the examination. NEET MDS 2024 is all set to be held on March 18, 2024.

NEET MDS 2024 exam date latest news: AIMSA urges Mansukh Mandaviya to postpone exam

NEET MDS 2024 exam date postponed: While NEET MDS 2024 exam is scheduled to be held on March 18, 2024, there is a huge demand to postpone the examination. After FORDA's appeal yesterday, another doctors' association, AIMSA has written to union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya and urged him to postpone the examination.

The current criteria, set with a cutoff date criteria of March 31, 2024, makes nearly 7000 to 8000 BDS interns ineligible. AIMSA has said that the criteria unfairly disqualify many interns who faced pandemic-related training breaks, extending their completion dates.

"This situation threatens their career prospects and undermines fairness in the selection process. With only 15 days left until the exam and uncertainty looming, interns lack adequate preparation time. We implore you to consider rescheduling the exam to allow for a reasonable extension, enabling all eligible candidates to compete fairly. Furthermore, we urge for an extension of the internship cutoff date for eligibility, benefitting the affected interns," reads the AIMSA letter.

The Association has said that aligning the NEET MDS 2024 counselling process with NEET PG would ensure uniformity and fairness across both MBBS and BDS aspirants. However, DCI in its notice yesterday said that the government can take NEET MDS 2024 counselling before NEET PG 2024 counselling.
