Last month, on August 9, the Supreme Court dismissed a separate petition which sought to postpone the NEET-PG 2024 exam over concerns related to exam centre allocations.
A group of NEET-PG 2024 aspirants has filed a review petition in the Supreme Court, focusing on issues of transparency in the examination process, normalisation of marks for different batches, and the legitimacy of results. The petitioners are urging the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) to release the official answer key and response key to ensure fairness and accuracy in the final results.
The petition, filed on September 6, raises concerns about the discrepancies found by candidates after comparing their answers with unofficial answer keys from coaching institutes. They are now pushing NBEMS to release both raw and normalised marks to address these concerns.
In a formal representation submitted on September 4, the aspirants also requested NBEMS to open a grievance portal for at least 15 days to allow students to submit their concerns. As counselling draws near, the aspirants are anxious about the delay in addressing these issues, which could impact their future prospects.
NEET-PG 2024 was held on August 11, after being rescheduled from June 23. Despite this, aspirants continue to raise concerns about transparency and fairness in the examination process. The Supreme Court is expected to hear the case next week.
Last month, on August 9, the Supreme Court dismissed a separate petition filed by Vishal Soren, which sought to postpone the NEET-PG 2024 exam over concerns related to exam centre allocations. Chief Justice of India (CJI) remarked that rescheduling the exam would disrupt the careers of two lakh students and highlighted the logistical challenges of conducting large-scale exams. The allocation of exam centres had been a point of contention, but the court ruled against any postponement, citing the broader impact on candidates.
