The Medical Counselling Committee has decided to reduce NEET-SS 2021 cut-off percentile by 15% and conduct a special mop-up round to fill up the vacant seats.

NEET-SS 2021: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has written to the Health Ministry about reducing the cut-off percentile and conducting a special mop-up round to fill up the vacant seats. In its letter to the National Board of Examinations, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, MCC stated that it has decided to reduce the cut-off percentile by 15% for an additional mop-up round to fill up the vacant seats.

The letter reads, "This is in reference to meeting held in MoHFW under the chairmanship of Hon. Minister HFM and attended by AS (ME), ADG (ME), Chairman, NMC and other respectable members. It has been decided to reduce the cut-off percentile by 15% for an additional mop-up round counselling to fill up the vacant seats of Super Speciality."

"Hence, it requested to you to provide the new result at the office of undersigned at the earliest after reduction of percentile. The letter of National Medical Commission regarding the reduction is attached with this letter for your ready reference," added the letter.

Dr Rohan Krishnan, the founding member of the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) India has tweeted, "I thank @MoHFW_INDIA & @NMC_IND for listening to us and reducing the cut off Bar of NEET SS. This will help in filling up of vacant seats of DM& Mch. All the best to new eligible candidates. Welcoming move. @FAIMA_INDIA_"
