NEET UG 2023 2nd attempt: AISU sends gentle reminder to NMC
All India Student's Union (AISU) has sent a gentle reminder to the National Medical Commission to urge the Commission to conduct NEET UG exam twice a year.
"Today, we have sent a gentle reminder letter to the National Medical Commission (NMC) regarding our previous request for conducting NEET UG twice a year. We eagerly await their response in the best interest of NEET UG aspirants," reads the AISU tweet.
"We made this request on behalf of the NEET UG aspirant community highlighting the potential benefits and positive impact of conducting the exam twice annually. It would provide students with an additional opportunity to secure admission and alleviate the stress and uncertainty associated with a single attempt," said AISU in the letter.
"We regret to inform you that we have not received any reply from your esteemed office regarding our previous letter. We kindly request your attention and consideration of this matter. A prompt response would be greatly appreciated to address the concerns and aspirations of the NEET UG aspirants across the nation," added AISU's letter.
Earlier, the All India JEE NEET Students Association (AIJNSA) had also written to the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to recommend NEET UG twice a year, starting from this year onwards. These associations are trying for two attempts of the examination so that the stress level of the aspirants can be reduced and also the number of associated suicide cases can decrease. However, there has been no reply from NMC or the Central government on this demand so far.
