NEET UG 2024 application form will be out soon, tentatively by January-end. Over 20 lakh candidates are waiting for the official website of the exam, neet.nta.nic.in to be activated for NEET 2024 to know the details about the exam such as the important dates, exam pattern, centres, etc.
Although there is no official update from the National Testing Agency (NTA) yet, except for the NEET 2024 exam date, which is May 5, 2024, however, based on past year trends and speculations, the tentative NEET UG 2024 application form date is fourth week of January 2024.

The NEET 2024 entrance exam has undergone major changes in syllabus and eligibility criteria. Before applying for the exam, candidates must go through the revised NEET UG 2024 eligibility criteria to ensure that they not only fulfil the eligibility criteria but also should be aware of the latest changes so that none of the eligible candidates is left out.
Changes Introduced in the NEET UG Eligibility Criteria 2024
This year, the NEET eligibility criteria have been changed in terms of two aspects, listed below:
- Candidates who have studied Biology or Biotechnology as additional subjects, instead of core subjects, will be considered as eligible for NEET.
- Candidates who have passed the Class 12 Board exam from Open Schools are also eligible for NEET 2024.

- Candidates should have passed or scheduled to appear for the Class 12 Board exam or equivalent with Chemistry, Physics, Biology/Biotechnology and English subjects
- Candidates belonging to the General category should have secured a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate and reserved category candidates should secure 45 per cent (General-PWD) and 40 per cent (SC, ST, OBC, Reserved PWD)
- Candidates must have attained the age of 17 years at the time of admission or will attain the same by December 31, 2024. Accordingly, the minimum date of birth of candidates should be December 31, 2007. There is no upper age limit.
- Indian nationals/ Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) who wish to pursue MBBS/ BDS from a foreign university also have to qualify for NEET 2024.
NEET UG 2024 exam will be conducted in a paper-pencil-based test (PBT) mode for a duration of 200 minutes, from 2 PM to 5.20 PM. The NEET question paper will be available in 13 languages including English and Hindi. The NEET 2024 exam centres will be located in over 500 cities across India and abroad.
