NEET UG 2024: Supreme Courts Stays Proceedings in 3 High Courts Concerning Alleged Paper Leak
The Apex Court has put petitions on hold against the alleged NEET UG 2024 exam paper leak controversy filed in the Rajasthan, Calcutta and Bombay High Court. The vacation bench passed the order while issuing notice on a transfer petition filed by NTA.
NEET UG 2024: The Supreme Court, on June 20, stayed petitions filed in Calcutta, Rajasthan and Bombay High Courts regarding the alleged NEET 2024 paper leak controversy and discrepancies in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) held on May 5.
A vacation bench consisting of Justice Vikram Nath and SVN Bhatti passed the judgement while issuing notice on a transfer petition filed by NTA. The National Testing Agency (NTA) urges the Apex Court to transfer the petitions from the High Court to the Supreme Court. Consequently, the Supreme Court bench ratifies the petition.
Initially, the Bench consisting of Justice Vikram Nath and SVN Bhatti was not included in passing the order to stay the proceeding. However, Advocate Vardhaman Kaushik, on behalf of NTA, highlighted that the High Courts are dealing with the matter despite the order on a similar petition last week. Consequently, the Supreme Court agrees to pass an order of stay for a petition in the High Courts of Rajasthan, Calcutta and Bombay.

Supreme Court to hear fresh petition on June 20 in NEET UG 2024 paper leak case from accused, Anurag Yadav, who has ratified the NEET 2024 paper leak and his involvement. Amit Anand, a culprit in the NEET UG paper leak, confessed to leaking the NEET 2024 question paper a day before the examination.

Education Ministry Seeks Detailed Report on NEET UG Paper Leak from Bihar Police
Amidst the NEET 2024 controversy, the Education Ministry has asked the Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police to submit a detailed report on the NEET UG 2024 paper leak case. In a related investigation, the EOU has found six post-date cheques allegedly related to the culprits of the NEET paper leak.

The Apex Court has transferred a similar petition, pending in the Delhi High Court, on NTA's petition concerning stay proceeding in the High Court.
