Amid the NEET UG 2024 controversy, two students who secured 705 and 690 marks respectively, in the entrance examination approached the Supreme Court against Re-NEET because of mischief by a few candidates.

NEET UG 2024 News

In the latest turn of events on NEET UG 2024 controversy, two students namely Kritika Garg and Priyanjali Garg from Meerut have knocked on the Supreme Court's door urging not to consider the Re-NEET 2024 proposal. The students who appeared in the examination secured 705 and 690 marks, respectively, in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) exam.

The students allegedly submitted their petition challenging the NEET UG re-exam proposal claiming the re-test is unethical for students who secured good marks through hard work. The students also mentioned that conducting the NEET 2024 exam again due to mischief by a few students will be 'unfair' to the majority of students as well as hardship for their families, as reported by Live Law.

Re-NEET May Disappoint Hardworking Students

The petitioners mentioned that NEET UG is one of the toughest examinations and the majority of students have given their 100% in the entrance test. The re-examination will disappoint hardworking students who secured good marks in the entrance examination. Petitioners further said that they secured 705 and 690 marks respectively, in the NEET UG 2024 results solely on their own hard work and dedication.

On June 13, a vacation bench comprising Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta stated: “Scrapping the entire process for lacs of students, for the mischief of a few, would be really unfair and torturous to other students who have not indulged in any such activities.”

Meanwhile, the issue pertaining to the grace marks in the NEET UG 2024 exam has already been withdrawn and the NEET UG 2024 re-exam has been conducted for 1563 candidates on June 23, 2024.
