MCC Issues Notice to Convert Nationality from Indian to NRI Category

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has issued a notice for the NEET UG 2021 candidates, who want to convert their nationality from Indian to NRI. Such candidates will have to send the relevant documents in support of their claim from December 30, 2021, to January 2, 2022, 10 AM. They have to mail the documents at ug.nri.mcc@gmail.com. MCC has stated, “Mails received before/ after the stipulated time will not be considered. Candidates are advised to send all documents enclosed in single mail only, within the stipulated time.”

Documents Required to be Submitted to Convert Nationality to NRI Category

The following documents have to be uploaded in the email in the following order:

  • Documents claiming that the sponsorer is an NRI (Passport, Visa of the sponsorer).

  • Relationship of NRI with the candidate.

  • Affidavit from the sponsorer that he/she will sponsor the entire course fee of the candidate duly notarized.

  • Embassy Certificate of the Sponsorer (Certificate from the Consulate).

  • NEET Score Card of the candidate.

Candidates applying for the conversion of their nationality must ensure that they have cleared NEET 2021 and are eligible for participating in the NEET 2021 counselling process. Once their category is converted, they will not be able to change it in any of the rounds of counselling, nor will they be eligible for availing benefits under Muslim Minority quota/Jain Minority Quota or any other Quota.

Candidates will also have to send an affidavit confirming their eligibility, which can be downloaded from the official website of MCC.
