NEET 2021 counselling Round 2 candidates who wish to convert their nationality category from Indian to NRI must send email with requisite documents and form between February 11 to February 13, 6 pm.

MCC Issues Notice to Convert Nationality from Indian to NRI Category

The NEET UG 2021 counselling registration process for Round 2 will begin from February 16 onwards. Before that, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has issued a notice for candidates who are willing to convert their category to NRI. As per the notice, such candidates should mail their relevant documents supporting their claim to change nationality from Indian to NRI from February 11 to February 13, 6 pm. The email address where they have to send the documents is nri.adgmemcc1@gmail.com. Candidates have to send all the documents in a single mail within the stipulated time.

Documents Required to be Submitted to Convert Nationality to NRI Category

The following documents have to be uploaded to the email in the following order:

  • Documents claiming that the sponsorer is an NRI (Passport, Visa of the sponsorer).

  • Relationship of NRI with the candidate.

  • Affidavit from the sponsorer that he/she will sponsor the entire course fee of the candidate duly notarized.

  • Embassy Certificate of the Sponsorer (Certificate from the Consulate).

  • NEET Score Card of the candidate.

They need to submit the documents along with the filled up form available along with the MCC notice at Annexure I.

Conditions for Candidates Converting Category from Indian to NRI

Candidates willing to convert category to NRI must keep in mind the following factors:

  • Candidates must have qualified for NEET 2021 and are eligible for NEET UG counselling.

  • After the conversion of the category, candidates will be treated as NRI in all rounds of NEET counselling.

  • Once the category is changed to NRI, candidates will not be able to avail of the benefit under the Muslim Minority quota/Jain Minority Quota or any other Quota.

In case any of the information or document furnished turns out to be false, the candidature will be cancelled by the counselling authorities. The Round 1 institute reporting process ended on February 9. Candidates willing to resign their Round 1 seats must do so by February 15, 4 pm.
