MCC has announced a Special Stray Vacancy Round for the NEET UG 2021 counselling which will commence on April 20. This additional round of counselling is being conducted for the 323 vacant MBBS seats.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced the conduct of the NEET 2021 counselling Special Stray Vacancy round for 323 MBBS seats. Candidates who participated in the NEET UG 2021 counselling but were not allotted a seat are eligible to participate in this round. They need to pay a Security Deposit amount of INR 50,000 for participation in Special Stray Vacancy Round. The Refundable Security Deposit of candidates who do not join the seats allotted to them in the Special Stray Vacancy Round will be Forfeited.

In this regard, MCC has stated, โ€œThe competent authority has decided to conduct a Special Stray Vacancy Round for the vacant (323) MBBS Seats in an online mode so that the precious All India Quota/ Central Institute/ Central University/ AIIMS/ JIPMER seats do not go waste.โ€

As per the eligibility criteria stated by MCC, candidates should not be holding any All India Quota (AIQ) or State Quota seats to participate in this round. Candidates who will be allotted seats in Special Stray Vacancy Round will have to report to the allotted Institute and join the seat with their original documents. They will have to furnish an undertaking regarding the allotment of seats at the time of Choice Filling on the MCC portal.

The Stray Vacancy round result was declared on April 5. A total of 923 candidates have been allotted seats. As per the seat vacancy list released for the last and final round of NEET 2021 counselling, a total of 979 seats are there across MBBS, BDS and BSc Nursing programmes.
