NExT 2024 Exam To be Held in October; NCISM Issues Eligibility Criteria, Exam Pattern, Syllabus
The NExT Exam will be held in the month of October 2024. Thereafter, the examination will be conducted twice a year, in February and August. Check the NExT exam pattern, syllabus, eligibility criteria and other important details here.
The National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) will conduct the NExT exam for the first time in the month of October 2024. However, the National Exit Test (NExT) from the next academic session will be conducted twice a year i.e. in February and August. The commission has released a notification including the NExT exam pattern, eligibility criteria, syllabus and other important details of the examination.
The exam will be taken to grant authorization to practice medicine in the relevant discipline within the Indian medical system and to register as an authorized physician after a year-long internship.

NEXT Eligibility Criteria 2024
An intern who has successfully completed a minimum of 270 days of internships as of the closing date shall be considered eligible for the NExT exam. Besides, the NExT exam syllabus will be prescribed by NCISM for UG (BAMS/BSMS/BUMS/BSRMS) courses.
Number of Attempts in NExT Exam
There shall be no limit to the number of attempts in the NExT exam.
NExT 2024 Important Guidelines
Students can check the important guidelines for NExT exam below:
- The NExT exam 2024 for each discipline will be conducted by the commission through a designated agency.
- The NExT exam 2024 will be a problem-based test to check the clinical competency and the ability to deal with medico-legal cases.
Important Note: The National Exit Test is mandatory for all those who have commenced their internship on or after December 20 2023, irrespective of year of admission/batch.
