NMC official confirms that the NExT Mock test which was to be held on July 28, 2023, will be cancelled and NMC will refund the registration fees submitted by the applicants.

Dr Yogender Malik, an official of National Medical Commission, has confirmed on the social media platform that the National Exit Mock Test which was to be held on July 28, 2023 will be cancelled and the registration fees will be refunded to the students.

"Dear Students #NExT. Mock will be cancelled and fee refunded," tweeted Dr Yogender Malik.

The registration process for NExT mock test was held between June 28, 2023, to June 10, 2023. The news of its cancellation has came nearly 10 days before the examination date. 

The application fee was INR 2000 for General/OBC candidates and INR 1000 for SC/ST/EWS applicants. This fee will now be refunded to the candidates.

There was a nationwide protest going on against the National Exit Test. Also, after the NMC deferred NExT till further notice, the applicants were worried about the application fees they had submitted while applying for the mock test.

FORDA had also written to the union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya recently about the concerns related to the upcoming exam.

"Next Mock exam is getting cancelled and money will be refunded. I wished they would have kept the exam free and conducted it so that everyone could now about the pattern and difficulty level of #NEXT whenever it comes into force," tweeted Dr.Shubham anand, National Chairman at Global Association of Indian Medical Students (GAIMS).
