NIMHANS: Admissions open for course on suicide prevention; Apply by Sept 10
The Department of Psychiatric Social Work at NIMHANS has invited resumes for the certificate course in suicide prevention and mental health promotion, latest by September 10, 2022.
The Department of Psychiatric Social Work at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) has invited resumes for the certificate course in suicide prevention and mental health promotion. The course duration will be three months and it is a full-time in-person course which will start on October 1 2022. The total number of seats available is 5.
The key highlights of the course include learning to enhance skills in responding to suicidal emergencies, prevention and brief counselling, training on mental well-being and mental health promotion, and observational and hands-on training in hospitals and NGOs.
The course fee is INR 9000 which is non-refundable. The eligibility requirement is Masters in Social Work/Psychology/Nursing MBBS/MPH/BSc Nursing or Post-Graduation in any health sciences/behavioural sciences from a recognized university.

NIMHANS offers certificate course in Crisis Intervention and Social Work Practice in Trauma Care
The Department of Psychiatric Social Work at NIMHANS is also offering a three months certificate course in 'Crisis Intervention and Social Work Practice in Trauma Care' for postgraduate students in social work. The course is proposed to address the training needs in the area of Emergency and Trauma Care. The selected candidates will be posted in the Emergency and Trauma Care Centre at NIMHANS. The deadline to apply is September 15, 2022.
The course is open to those who have obtained a Master’s Degree in Social Work (full time), from a university recognized by UGC and approved by NIMHANS, securing not less than 55% marks in the aggregate of the Master’s Degree as a whole.
