"Genes play crucial roles in development, physiological homeostasis and diseases. In the post-genomic era, causative genes for many genetic diseases were identified. However, the genetic understanding of the complex conditions like Neurological disorders, Psychiatric disorders, Cancer, Diabetes etc still remains an enigma. Proper understanding of the genetic basis of diseases is critical for their diagnosis as well as prognosis," reads NIMHANS statement.

After completion of this course, the trained professionals will be able to utilise these skills in their profession, added NIMHANS.
