National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) is offering a three months certificate course on ‘Molecular Cloning’, applications can be sent by November 30, 2022.

The National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) has invited applications for a three months certificate course on ‘Molecular Cloning’ latest by November 30, 2022.

The candidates need to make their own arrangements for accommodation. There is a limited hostel facility only on prior request and it is subject to availability (fees may be charged separately), says the official notification.

The course will start on January 1, 2023, and intimation about selection will be done by December 15, 2022. The number of seats is a maximum of three per batch and the course fee is INR 15,000. The age limit is 30 years.

"Students after completion of this course will gain hands-on training in the area of molecular cloning and also get knowledge of recent advanced in genome editing and its various applications. Students can use this expertise in Research Institutes, Pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, Hospitals and Universities," reads the official notification. 

Eligibility Criteria and Other Details

The candidate must have a master's degree in any branch of life sciences or a Professional Bachelor's degree such as

MBBS, B.E, B.Tech etc. Ongoing students having final-year projects are also encouraged to apply. Selection will be purely on merit. 

Interested candidates should send their application via Email or hard copy in the prescribed format along with the following documents - duly filled application form, one-page write-up on how the candidate will be benefited from this course, copies of certificates/testimonials attesting educational qualification, age, research/work experience, if any, letter from HOD is mandatory for ongoing students.
