NIMHANS to organise Workshop for PG students on Feb 9

Department of Clinical Psychopharmacology and Neurotoxicology of National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) Bangalore-29 is all set to organise a workshop on Application of Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry in the Testing of Abused Substances on February 9, 2024. Maximum number of participants is 10.

The program is best suited for fresh postgraduates who want to take their first formal exposure to gas chromatography mass spectrometery (GC-MS). GC-MS finds application in laboratory testing, criminal forensics, environmental monitoring, explosives detection, etc. are just a few of the sectors. Therefore, the workshop will be beneficial for those who want to work in the chemical, pharmaceutical, food, oil, agricultural, cosmetic, analytical testing laboratories, and other related industries.

To apply for the course, all applicants are required to register online by scanning the QR code. Selected candidates will receive an email with payment details. The registration fee is INR 1770 including GST and the last date to register is January 31, 2024.

Topics of the workshop include Introduction to analytical techniques, involved in the testing of abused substances, on-site screening of abused substances in biological samples, introduction to Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry, application and operation of Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry.

Chairperson will be Dr. M.M Srinivas Bharath HOD Department of Clinical Psychopharmacology and Neurotoxicology NIMHANS, and Convenor is Dr. Priyamvada Sharma Associate Professor Department of Clinical Psychopharmacology and Neurotoxicology NIMHANS.

NIMHANS is a multidisciplinary institute for patient care and academic pursuit in the field of mental health and neurosciences.
