The Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC), New Delhi has invited applications for annual renewal for batch admission for the academic year 2023-24. This notification is meant for the medical colleges that are not given recognition after a Letter of Permission (LOP) or after the increase of seats.

The official notification reads, "We request you to submit the sworn affidavit (self-appraisal) as per the format and follow the Undergraduate Regulations gazette as on date. Please apply through an online portal with prescribed fees with GST."

NMC provides relaxation to foreign medical graduates

As per the direction of the Supreme Court's order, NMC has provided some relief to foreign medical graduates. The official statement said that as one time measure, the Indian students who were in the last year of their undergraduate medical courses in Ukraine or China and had to leave the foreign country due to the ongoing Russia and Ukraine war or Covid 19 pandemic and have been granted the certificate of completion of the course/degree by their respective institute on or before June 30, 2022, can appear in the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination.

"Thereafter, upon qualifying the FMG examination, such foreign medical graduates are required to undergo Compulsory Rotating Medical Internship (CRMI)for a period of two years to make up for the clinical training which could not be physically attended by them during the undergraduate medicine course in the foreign institute as also to familiarise them with the practice of medicine under Indian conditions. The foreign medical graduates will be eligible to get registration only after completing the CRMI for two years," added the notification.
