NTA requests urgent hearing in SC on NEET result 2021
NTA has sought an early hearing in the Supreme Court on its plea against the Bombay High Court order that halted the NEET 2021 result declaration.
After the Bombay High Court directed the National Testing Agency (NTA) to conduct the fresh examination of two candidates and declare their results along with the NEET (National Eligibility Entrance Test) results of other students, NTA has sought an urgent hearing in the Supreme Court on this matter.
NTA has informed a bench headed by Chief Justice N V Ramana about the urgency of the matter as the Bombay High Court's unprecedented order has halted the declaration of NEET 2021 results. The court has asked the law officer to inform the bench about the course and after being told that it is a new matter, the bench has agreed to consider an urgent listing.
NTA has submitted before the bench through law officer βThe declaration of the results of the NEET exam has stayed the behest of two students. I am requesting the hearing tomorrow,β as reported by NDTV Education.
In its appeal to Supreme Court, NTA has said that due to this order, they are not able to declare the results of other lakhs of students even though they are ready with the NEET 2021 results.
NTA plea reads, βThe delay in declaration of Result of NEET (UG) 2021 will affect and further delay the subsequent process of admission to Undergraduate Medical Courses i.e. MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BSMS, BUMS and BHMS Courses.β
Two NEET 2021 aspirants had alleged that their test booklets and OMR sheets got mixed at the examination centre and the High Court had ordered that they must be given a fresh opportunity to appear in the examination.
