PM Modi to inaugurate AIIMS Guwahati, 3 medical colleges in Assam on April 14

Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the AIIMS Guwahati and three medical colleges in the state on April 14, 2023. Assam health minister Keshab Mahanta along with Cabinet members visited Nalbari MCH to review the preparation for its virtual inauguration by the Prime Minister. He also visited the newly built Kokrajhar MCH and reviewed the preparations for its inauguration.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to inaugurate the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Guwahati and three new medical colleges in Assam on April 14, 2023.

Assam health minister released a statement on Tuesday that the PM will virtually inaugurate the three medical colleges at Nalbari, Nagaon and Korajhar from the AIIMS Guwahati site and Changsari on the outskirts of the city, as reported by TOI.

Recently, these three medical colleges got National Medical Commission’s approval to start MBBS courses from the 2023-24 academic session. After the NMC’s approval of Nalbari Medical College, the number of medical seats in the 12 government medical colleges of the state has increased to 1500.

“Visited the newly built Kokrajhar MCH and reviewed the preparations for its inauguration by Hon'ble PM Narendra Modi ji on April 14. In a meeting, discussed at length about the arrangements to make the ceremony successful. Also, took stock of the various depts. of the MCH,” tweeted Assam health minister Keshab Mahanta.

“Along with Cabinet colleague @jayanta_malla visited Nalbari MCH to review the preparation for its virtual inauguration on April 14 by Hon'ble PM. Also, took updates on the functioning of various depts of this new hospital,” reads another tweet by the Assam health minister.
