Protest against Haryana's bond policy continues; CM Khattar to meet students

The MBBS students of Haryana are protesting against the INR 40 lakh bond policy since November 1, 2022. The government initially assured them that they need not pay the amount during the admission but only when they refuse to serve the state for seven years after completing the course. However, the students are not convinced with the assurance and they proposed that the government should provide them with compulsory service after the course gets completed if the government aims to tackle the shortage of doctors in the state, which the government has refused to accept.

Amid these discussions, the protest continues and various doctors' associations are strongly backing the protest.

"Bond policy will ruin the careers of students. The government has not yet assured any employment of the students. The strike has been going on for more than 27 days but we have not seen any positive results. This policy will hamper the right to education," said a student, as reported by Economic Times.

CM Khattar may meet the students today

As per the report of The Print, an agitating medico said that Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will on Wednesday meet with MBBS students protesting against the state government’s bond policy.

He said a circular regarding the proposed meeting had already been issued by the director of Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS) in Rohtak.
