Punjab's GMCs to expedite the availability of essential drugs at hospitals
Health and Medical Education & Research Minister Chetan Singh Jauramajra directed all four government medical colleges to expedite the availability of essential drugs at all the hospitals.
While chairing a high-level meeting to review various projects, development works and pending demands of four government medical colleges, Health and Medical Education & Research Minister Chetan Singh Jauramajra directed all four government medical colleges to expedite the availability of essential drugs at all the hospitals. These government medical colleges are in Patiala, Amritsar, Faridkot, and Mohali.
The meeting was attended by Alaknanda Dayal, Secretary of Medical Education & Research, Dr Avnish Kumar, Director of Health and Principals and Medical Superintendents of four government medical colleges.
Jauramajra also reviewed the efforts being made by the Department to adjust various COVID warriors who had given services during the outbreak of COVID-19. He directed the hospitals to prepare a detailed master plan for the upgradation of the facilities at the institutions for the patients and students. He stressed a time-bound action to amend and draft any pending service rules, besides asking the Directorate to ensure timely advertisement of various direct quota posts, as reported by Daily Pioneer.
During the meeting, it was decided to enhance the delegation of powers with the institution heads to streamline the work and cut the red tape.
The departments are asked to prepare a proposal for incentivizing the super-specialists to attract talented doctors. He appreciated the work being done and at the same time emphasized that much more needs to be done so as to provide better facilities to the patients.
