Rajasthan's CM Ashok Gehlot approves setting up 3 new medical colleges

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has approved the proposal to establish three new medical colleges in Pratapgarh, Jalore and Rajsamand. 

As per the TOI report, these new medical colleges will be established under RajMES (Rajasthan Medical Education Society) in these three districts.

As per an official statement, each medical college will be constructed at the cost of INR 250 crores. "The state government is working towards strengthening basic medical services and providing better medical facilities to the general public," Gehlot said.

The official statement also added that INR 75 crore would be spent on necessary equipment, furniture and books in these colleges.

"With this decision of CM Gehlot, the health infrastructure in the state will be strengthened," added the statement, as reported by Business Standard.

In 30 districts of Rajasthan, the medical colleges were already approved, with this new approval, the state will have medical colleges in all 33 districts.

The state government also approved the proposal for the creation of 20 new posts in Mathuradas Mathur Hospital including 3 Assistant Professors of cardiology, 2 senior residents, 4 junior residents, 1 senior nursing officer and 4 nursing officers. A total of 20 posts will be created including 2 posts of technicians.
