The National Testing Agency (NTA) may revise the syllabus for NEET 2021 owing to the difficulties in completing the curriculum this year. Looking at the current COVID-19 situation in India, conducting regular classes to complete the entire curriculum of Class XII will not be possible for a few more months. The education ministers of various states discussed issues like this with the Union HRD Minister, Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, on Tuesday. Following which the Deputy Chief Minister for Delhi, Manish Sisodia, tweeted that they have requested the government to reduce the curriculum of all classes by 30 per cent. Adding to this, he also said that the national level entrance tests such as NEET, be conducted as per the revised curriculum.

Implementation of the changes stated above would mean at least a 30 per cent reduction in the NEET syllabus. However, such changes will be applicable to only those appearing for NEET exam next year.

For the aspirants of NEET 2020, the examination date has now been announced by the HRD Minister. NEET 2020 exam dates will be July 26. The dates have been announced after careful evaluation of the COVID-19 situation in India. However, NTA is yet to release the date for issuing the admit cards for NEET 2020. Meanwhile, candidates are advised to make the most of this extra-time and work towards strengthening their NEET preparation strategies.
