RML announced plans for comprehensive redevelopment and beautification project
The hospital has announced plans for a comprehensive redevelopment and beautification project at the roundabout near Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital. The estimated cost is INR 91 lakh.
NDMC vice-chairman Satish Upadhyay said the proposed project encompasses redesigning and landscaping initiatives, featuring the installation of sculptures, and fountains, among other artistic elements. NDMC intends to add five elegantly crafted sculptures, specifically an elephant family, adding a touch of cultural richness to the roundabout, as reported by Indian Express.
Moreover, the project includes setting up or maintenance of elements such as pathways, flower beds, grass beds, lamp posts, fountain channels, low-rise fountain walls, kerb stones, and more. The horticulture department of NDMC will oversee the upkeep of horticultural features, including flowers, grass, and plants.
RML Roundabout serves as a vital point, connecting Sheikh Majibur Rehman Marg, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, Talkatora Road, and Mother Teresa Crescent. “The strategic location ensures that the beautification efforts will be witnessed by the multitude of visitors traversing these significant thoroughfares,” Satish Upadhyay said.
