RTH Act: IMA congratulates Rajasthan doctors on historic success of agitation
Indian Medical Association has said that the success of the protest against the RTH bill is not limited to the private sector's exemption from the bill, extending the fire NOC to five years, and getting assurance on the single window to facilitate private but also to strengthening medical solidarity nationwide.
The protesting doctors in Rajasthan and the state government finally reached an agreement after more than two weeks of intense protests by private hospitals' doctors. As per the settlement, the state government has exempted the private sector from RTA Act. After the agreement, the agitating doctors have called off their protests and now Indian Medical Association (IMA) has congratulated the doctors on their historic success.
IMA's tweet reads, "Congratulations on the historic success of the medical agitation in Rajasthan."
The statement released by IMA highlighted the turn of events during the protest and how the protest was one of the biggest in the country.
"The national protest day on March 27, 2023, turned out to be historic with doctors in the entire nation wearing black badges and many branches submitting memorandum to district administration to forward to Rajasthan government. There was mammoth participation in the online virtual rally as well," reads the IMA statement.
FORDA India also congratulated the doctors and tweeted, "We congratulate every voice, every slogan, Every soul who braved the horrendous lathis, Everybody who stood against the water cannons, Every doctor who fought for his right, and rose up to the occasion! Every contribution mattered in the end. Doctors’ unity wins!"
