Russia-Ukraine crisis: Leave Kyiv immediately, Indian Embassy to Students and others

All Indian nationals including students are advised to leave Kyiv urgently today.

Indian Embassy has issued an urgent advisory for Indians including students to leave the Ukrainian capital Kyiv today. It has advised Indians to leave by any means of transport available.

India has been evacuating its citizens through special flights from neighbouring countries of Ukraine Yesterday Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a high-level meeting of his council of ministers where it was decided that four of his ministers would be going to different countries to help Indian missions there in evacuating Indians from Ukraine.

As per the fresh advisory issued by Indian Embassy, All Indian nationals including students are advised to leave Kyiv urgently today. “Preferably by available trains or through any other means available,” reads the statement.

Modi has said that the government is working to ensure that all Indians in Ukraine are safe. He said India will also help people from neighbouring and developing countries who are stranded in the eastern European nation.

UK Ministry of Defence has said that Russian forces have increased their use of artillery north of Kyiv & in the vicinities of Kharkiv & Chernihiv. The use of heavy artillery in densely populated urban areas greatly increases the risk of civilian casualties.

Last night, 400 students housed near Embassy since 24 Feb successfully left Kyiv by train through Mission's efforts. As per Indian Embassy: “Ensured movement of more than 1000 Indian students from Kyiv towards Western border.
