Recently, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal sanctioned the Health Department’s proposal for immediate and stringent action against 4 doctors who denied medical support to a patient who eventually died. The authority concerned had proposed the dismissal of a doctor from GTB Hospital and one from LNJP Hospital, along with the suspension of one doctor from each hospital. 

Chief Minister had forwarded the proposal for the LG’s approval concerning decisive action against these accountable officials.

Dr Ashwini Dalmiya, President of Elect, Delhi Medical Association has said on X, “Doctors cannot be made scapegoats to cover lack of proper infrastructure ( CT, MRI etc ) in government hospitals. DMA will contest this in court of Law. @GirishTyagiDMC @dr_arunkgupta. DMC should conduct a suo moto enquiry.”

As per TOI report, DMA on Wednesday announced to ‘gherao’ Delhi LG, Chief Minister and the Health Minister to protest against the decision of the delhi government to take strict action against four government doctors who allegedly denied medical assistance to an injured man who eventually died.

Dr Ashwini Dalmiya said that the decision was taken at a general body meeting, which was attended by office-bearers and resident doctors’ associations.

As per reports, on Jan 2, the accused in a sexual harassment case got injured while trying to escape a PCR vehicle and died on Jan 3, allegedly after being denied treatment by four government hospitals.
