Telangana: Harish Rao announces plans to boost Ayurvedic medicine

Telangana government is investing INR 10 crore in developing the Nature Cure Hospital in Begumpet. Currently, the State has 834 Ayush dispensaries, five colleges, and four research hospitals.
Health Minister T Harish Rao announced that the government is taking significant measures to enhance the practice of ayurvedic medicine in the State.
While speaking at a meeting, he revealed plans to construct new 50-bed Ayush hospitals in Vikarabad, Jayashankar Bhupalpally and Siddipet districts. The government intends to expand this initiative to encompass all districts across the State.
A government centre will be built on 150 acres of land adjacent to the Jindal Ayurveda Hospital in Ananthagiri Hills, while the ayurveda hospital in Siddipet will be linked to the district’s medical college. A total of 3,071 candidates have received training as Mid-Level Health Professionals (MLHPs), with one-third of them (1,154 individuals) being Ayurvedic doctors, he said, as reported by Indian Express.

Telangana government issued orders to fill up 1,827 posts of Staff Nurses by way of Direct Recruitment under the administrative control of the Director of Medical Education through the Medical and Health Services Recruitment Board.
"After due examination of the proposals furnished by the Health, Meidcal and Family Welfare Department in this regard, the actual requirement of personnel with reference to the activities and needs of the Department and the overall financial implication, Government hereby accord permission for filling up of one thousand eight hundred and twenty-seven (1,827) posts of staff nurse under the administrative control of Director of Medical Education," said the official notification.
