In the first phase, GMCs in 11 districts of the state including Jalaun, Ambedkar Nagar, Saharanpur, Badaun, Banda, Azamgarh, Ayodhya, Basti, Bahraich, Firozabad and Shahjahanpur will start BSc Nursing from November 2022.

After increasing the number of medical colleges in the state now Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is focussing on meeting the shortage of nursing and para-medical personnel in these colleges and hospitals. In line with this, 11 more government medical colleges in the state are all set to start the BSc Nursing in November 2022.

Along with this, nursing will be taught in the remaining other government medical colleges from the next session, as reported by youthistaan.

In the first phase, medical colleges in 11 districts of the state - Jalaun, Ambedkar Nagar, Saharanpur, Badaun, Banda, Azamgarh, Ayodhya, Basti, Bahraich, Firozabad and Shahjahanpur will start nursing education from November.

For starting these courses, the building will be built under PPP mode in medical colleges. Till the time the building is built, the nursing course will be taught in the buildings of government medical colleges only.

"The recruitment of professors for teaching students is about to be completed. The Directorate General has issued an advertisement for recruitment to the posts of Principal cum Professor, Vice Principal cum Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor and Tutor, of which about one thousand applications have been received. The process of appointment to these posts is going on through interviews and written tests. Apart from this, necessary equipment, books, computers etc. are being procured with an amount of INR 18.96 crore for setting up skill labs in 24 medical colleges through National Health Mission," said Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary, of Medical Education.
