LLRM Medical College, located in Uttar Pradesh, is facing a serious threat from a gang allegedly supported by local politicians. This group of local “goons” has been terrorizing the campus, particularly targeting the medical students. The situation has escalated to the point where girls feel unsafe leaving the college premises due to the pervasive atmosphere of fear, said the All India Medical Students' Association (AIMSA) on X platform.
On February 19, 2024, a series of attacks occurred both within the college campus and its vicinity, resulting in the brutal assault of two doctors. This alarming development underscores the inadequacy of existing security measures, leaving the college community vulnerable to such violence. Despite being an educational institution, LLRM Medical College has tragically become a battleground for aggression, with perpetrators claiming unwavering support from certain local politicians, added the Association.
AIMSA has urged Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's intervention in this matter and swift and decisive action to ensure the safety and well-being of students, faculty and staff at LLRM Medical College.
"Immediate steps must be implemented to address the root causes of this menace and restore a sense of security within the campus environment," added AIMSA.
