The government seats are allotted by the director of technical education. These are included in the first three categories of colleges. Separate applications are required for admission to the management seats in the aided and self-financing colleges. Meanwhile, for the selection of 50% seats in self-financing colleges, the management would invite applications while the government would publish the rank list. Reservation criteria too would be followed for admission to these seats. If there aren’t enough applicants for these seats, then other students who are eligible would be admitted.

The applicants need to pass the qualifying exam with at least 60% marks; candidates of scheduled categories need 55% marks. Besides, Associate Members of Institution of Engineers and AMIET candidates who have 55% marks for the B section and have GATE scores too would be considered.

Eligibility Criteria

Students who are writing the final semester exams can apply only if they have passed all the subjects until the sixth semester. Meanwhile, BArch students need to pass all subjects until the eighth semester, as it is a 5-year course. Usually, the selection is based on the GATE score. If there aren’t enough candidates with GATE score, then Keralites who do not have GATE or candidates from other states would be considered for admission. For their admission, the total marks until the sixth semester BTech would be considered. If they are BArch qualified, then their marks until the eighth semester would be taken. Applicants who have GATE scores will get scholarships for up to 24 months as per the criterion of the All India Council of Technical Education.
