MUHS MBBS Final Year Exams 2021: The Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) has announced that it will be conducting theMUHS MBBS Final year exams from March 8, 2021 onwards. As per the details shared by the varsity, the MBBS Exams for the final year students will be conducted in offline mode.
Several students and their parents strongly opposed the decision to conduct the MBBS final year exams in offline mode. They were demanding the exams to be held online, especially keeping in mind the recent spurt in the COVID-19 case numbers in the state.
Taking into account the concerns raised by the students about the rising number of cases and how it could lead to a major outbreak during the exam, the exam authorities have assured students to have made special arrangements to handle the situation. In order to ensure the safety of MBBS students appearing for final year exams, the university would be allotted a separate exam hall where all asymptomatic students would be hosted for the exam.
When asked about the varsity's decision to not hold MUHS Final Year Exams online, the university officials said that it will be logistically difficult considering the vast area from where students come to MUHS. Speaking to a leading media agency, MUHS Controller of Exam, Mr. Ajit Pathak said that the varsity’s jurisdiction spreads across the state and many colleges are in remote, hilly areas. Therefore, internet connectivity will be a concern.
Earlier the MUHS Exams 2021 were scheduled to be conducted from February 24, 2021. However, due to a spike in the coronavirus cases in the state, the varsity delayed the exams by nearly two weeks. Reports have also confirmed that the exams for the first batch of over 25,000 students of the first, second, and third-year from various health science courses would be conducted from March 23, 2021.
