Mumbai University has clarified that LLM (semester 1) exams, which were scheduled to begin on May 10, now stand postponed, however, no official information on the new schedule has been released yet.
Days after Maharashtra Minister for Higher and Technical Uday Samanth announced that all state university exams will be conducted in offline mode only and the varsities should share the question paper banks with students. However, this left the students from the law faculty confused.
Though, Mumbai University has clarified that LLM (semester 1) exams, which were scheduled to begin on May 10, now stand postponed, however, no official information on the new schedule has been released yet. For LLB (semester 4) students are still waiting for the question banks from the University as their exams are scheduled to begin on May 18.
While speaking on the same, student rights activist, Sachin Pawar said, “There’s definitely a difference in the announcement of changes and its eventual implementation, especially by MU. Already students are worried about appearing for an offline exam after a break of almost two years, such delay and discrepancies in the implementation of the government decisions will take a toll on students," as reported by HT.
He has also reached out to the university with this request on behalf of law students. Meanwhile, exam department officials said that they will release the new schedule next week. In February, Mumbai University announced that it will hold the summer 2022 exams online as well as offline mode.
All the state University Summer 2022 exams will be held in offline mode and suggested that colleges phase-out Multiple-choice questions (MCQs), Mumbai University has announced that it will not change the exam pattern. After nearly two years of online exams, most state universities suggested bringing offline exams back for the summer 2022 session.
