National Education Ministers’ Conference begins today in Gujarat

The National Education Ministers’ Conference will begin in Gujarat today; i.e June 1. The conference will focus on the implementation of the new National Education Policy (NEP). Education Ministers of States/UTs are will be participating in the conference. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan along with Rajeev Chandrasekhar, MoS Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Electronics & Information Technology; Annapurna Devi, MoS for Education; Dr. Subhash Sarkar, MoS for Education and senior officials of Ministry of Education will participate in the meeting, the Education Ministry said in a statement.

The conference is expected to witness deliberations on strengthening the education ecosystem in the country with focus on implementation of National Education Policy 2020, skilling in schools and digital initiatives like NDEAR, NETF, etc.

The Ministers will also be visiting Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK), Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics (BISAG), National Forensic Science University (NFSU) and International Automobile Centre of Excellence (iACE) on June 1, 2022.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi while attending the 'Garib Kalyan Sammelan' in Shimla said that the Central government is working towards having at least one medical college in each district of the country. "We plan to build a medical college in every district of the country. The last 8 years have been of fulfilling people's aspirations. During this, our resolution has been - Service, Good Governance and Poor Welfare. With the 'Vikas Yatra' section of the NaMo App, you will experience this complete journey of progress," he added.

The event is being organized across India to mark the eight years completion of the Modi government.
