National Teachers Awards 2021: President Kovind to felicitate 44 teachers of India on Sept 5

On August 18, the education ministry released the list of the 44 teachers who would be awarded this year. The department commenced the registration process for this year’s awards on June 1 and the last day to register was July 10.

President Ram Nath Kovind will be felicitating 44 recipients of the National Teachers Awards 2021 on Teacher’s Day, i.e. September 5, 2021. On August 18, the education ministry released the list of the 44 teachers who would be awarded this year. The department commenced the registration process for this year’s awards on June 1 and the last day to register was July 10. Teachers were allowed to self-nominate themselves. However, the final selection was done by a jury through personal interaction. The constitution of the National Teachers Awards was done in order to celebrate the finest teachers of India, their excellent and unique contributions. Teachers who worked towards improving the quality of school education and enriched the lives of students are honored during this award ceremony.

This year, two teachers from Delhi's Bal Bharati Public School Dwarka and Rajkiya Pratibha Vikas Vidyalaya would receive the National Teachers Awards 2021 from amongst those working in CBSE schools.

Teachers have been selected from states such as Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Sikkim, Odisha, Bihar, Gujarat, and Rajasthan. A teacher from Eklavya Model Residential School, Karpawand, Bastar, Chhattisgarh is also among the awardees.
