NEET 2022 Exam Day Live Updates

NEET 2022 is scheduled to be conducted today, July 17. The National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting the exam across 497 cities across India and 14 cities abroad. Approximately 18 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the exam. The exam will be conducted in a paper-pencil-based test for a duration of 3 hours and 20 minutes in 13 languages.

They can view information regarding the exam day instructions, dress code, reporting and exam timing, analysis and review, NEET 2022 answer keys and solutions, along with tentative result date.

NEET 2022 is the gateway to admission in MBBS, BDS, BSc Nursing, AYUSH, Veterinary, and other medical/paramedical courses in India. The NEET 2022 exam pattern and structure have remained the same as last year. The detailed pattern is given in the table below:

Each correct answer carries four marks and there is a negative marking of one mark for each wrong answer. No marks will be given for unattempted questions or extra attempted questions.

    Dubai Received Maximum Candidates Outside India

    Dubai had the highest number of NEET candidates from the category of 'Candidates Outside India'. The number stood at 646. On the other hand, Bangkok, Thailand saw the lowest turnout in the international cities where NEET 2022 was conducted, with six candidates appearing for the test.

    Maximum Candidates Appeared from Jaipur; Minimum from Sikkim

    As per the data released by the Ministry of Education, Jaipur saw the largest number of test-takers, which was 52,351. On the other hand, the lowest number of candidates appeared in West Sikkim, which was 105.

    NEET 2022 Analysis - Moderate to Tough Test

    As per the experts' reviews and student reactions, NEET 2022 has been termed as a moderate to tough test. The overall difficulty was similar to that of last year. Physics was the toughest section followed by Chemistry. Biology was the easiest section. Higher weightage was given to Class 12 chapters and topics of the NEET 2022 syllabus.

    NEET 2022 Question Paper Codes = Q, R, S, T

    The question paper codes for NEET 2022 were Q, R, S and T. Including the subsets, there were a total of 24 NEET 2022 question paper sets, which are as follows:

    • NEET 2022 Question Paper Set Q - Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4, Q5, Q6
    • NEET 2022 Question Paper Set R - R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6
    • NEET 2022 Question Paper Set S - S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S6
    • NEET 2022 Question Paper Set T - T1, T2, T3, T4, T5, T6

    NEET 2022 Concludes

    NEET 2022 has concluded at 5.20 pm. Candidates have to submit their OMR sheets along with the admit card to the invigilators. After submitting, they have to sign the attendance sheet again to mark their complete attendance. In case anybody misses signing the sheet before leaving the hall, their exam sheet may be considered invalid by the exam authorities.

    NEET 2022 halfway mark reached

    The candidates have reached halfway mark for the NEET 2022 exam as the first 100 minutes are over. Invigilators have made candidates sign on the attendance sheet and they had to paste their passport size colour photograph. For security purpose, the entire exam is being video recorded by NTA.

    NEET 2022 Exam Begins

    Finally, the moment has arrived as the clock struck 2! The NEET 2022 exam has begun. As the first bell was rung, the invigilators instructed candidates to open the test booklet to bring out the NEET 2022 question paper and OMR sheet and start answering the questions. Candidates were earlier instructed to write their personal details such as names and roll numbers on the OMR sheet to save time.

    NEET 2022 Question Paper Distributed

    With 15 minutes left for the exam to begin, the invigilators have distributed the NEET 2022 question papers to the candidates. Test-takers have to ensure that the booklet is sealed and should not open it unless instructed by the invigilators, and after the first bell rings. The exam is set to begin at 2 pm.

    NEET 2022 Exam Centre Gates Closed

    As the reporting time gets over, the NEET 2022 exam centre gates are closed at 1.30 pm. No candidates will be allowed to enter the centre after this.

    Fresh N-95 Masks Offered at Centre

    Candidates will be offered fresh N-95 masks before entry. In order to stop the chances of any UFM being used in the exam, they have to dispose of the masks worn by them earlier and use the one given at the centre.

    Candidates' with Higher than Normal Temperature to Take Exam in Isolation Room

    Candidates' temperatures are monitored at the Registration Room using Thermo Guns. In case it is found that body temperature is higher than the COVID-19 norms, candidates will have to appear for the test from a separate room or an isolation room.

    Candidates with customary dressing had to report an hour earlier

    Candidates belonging to any particular religious faith which impacts their dressing, such as wearing burqa, turbans, caps, etc. had to report an hour earlier than the stipulated time to get themselves frisked and checked properly by the security officials.

    NEET 2022 Exam Centre Reporting Begins

    The NEET 2022 exam centre reporting process started at 12.20 pm. The gates opened and candidates started entering the exam hall. Security officials are allowing entry after verifying the NEET 2022 admit card, Self-Declaration Undertaking and valid photo identity card. They are also ensuring that the social distancing protocols are maintained.

    COVID-19 Protocols to be Followed at Centre

    NTA has released the COVID-19 advisory or safety protocols to be followed at centre:

    • Practice social distancing

    • Use N-95 mask throughout the duration spent at the centre

    • Use hand sanitiser frequently

    • Cover mouth and nose while coughing or sneezing

    NEET 2022 Dress Code

    NTA has given the guidelines on NEET 2022 dress code separately for male and female candidates. The dress codes are as follows:

     

    • Full sleeve clothes are not allowed
    • Clothes should be simple and should not have zips, pockets, huge buttons, etc.
    • Metallic/non-metallic jewellery has to be avoided
    • Jackets or coats are not allowed
    • Shoes, boots, or any covered footwear are not allowed. Candidates are advised to wear slippers or open-toed sandals
    • Metallic/non-metallic jewellery has to be avoided
    • Dressing directly related to any particular religious faith will have an exception.

    List of Permissible Items at NEET 2022 Exam Centre

    Candidates will be allowed to carry the following items to the NEET exam centre:

    • Personal transparent water bottle

    • Additional photograph to be pasted on the attendance sheet, which should be the same as that printed on the admit card

    • Admit Card, Self Declaration Undertaking and Photo Identity Card among mandatory documents

    List of Items Not Allowed at NEET 2022 Exam Centre

    Candidates will not be allowed to carry any personal belongings, electronic items or gadgets such as mobile phone, watch, calculator, stationary items, food items, etc. to the centre. The list is given below:

    • Personal belongings including electronic devices

    • Stationary items or books

    • Food items or drinks other than water (unless a candidate is diabetic or has any health condition)

    • Jewellery or accessory

    Candidates allotted centres located at faraway distance

    A number of candidates have been allotted an exam centre located at far away distance, which has created inconvenience for candidates. NTA has not responded to candidates’ requests to reallocate their centres.

    NEET 2022 Admit Card and Valid Photo Identity Card Mandatory Documents

    Candidates have to carry their NEET 2022 admit card, a valid photo identity card such as Aadhaar Card/PAN Card/Voter ID Card/Driving License/Class 12 Board Exam Admit Card as mandatory documents to the centre. They must also carry 2-3 coloured passport size photographs to be pasted on the attendance sheet.

    NEET 2022 Exam Timing

    NEET 2022 will be conducted from 2 pm to 5.20 pm in Indian Standard Time (IST). The centre reporting time is 12.30 pm. The gates will close at 1.30 pm. Beyond this time, no candidates will be allowed to enter the exam centre.
