NEET 2022 Live Updates: Official Answer Key by NTA on August 30!

After conducting continuous online campaigning on social media demanding the second attempt in NEET UG 2022 and the third attempt in JEE Main 2022, students are now preparing to launch a 'Candle March' today, i.e. on August 22 at 7 PM.

It is expected that NTA will release the NEET 2022 answer keys this week. It has been long since the official answer key of NEET 2022 is expected but there has been no official update on this as of now.

At the beginning of the third week of August, NTA officials were quoted by media reports that the NEET official answer keys 2022 will be released by the end of this week. However, till date there has been no information regarding the release of the NEET 2022 answer keys or the OMR sheets.

The Biology section in NEET carries the highest weightage in the question paper with a total of 90 questions and 360 marks in total. The Biology subject is bifurcated into Botany and Zoology subjects, which carry 45 questions each carrying four marks. 

The total marks for NEET 2022 is 720. The weightage is highest for the Biology subject, which consists of Botany and Zoology sections. The following table brings the subject or section-wise marks in NEET 2022.

NEET 2022 official answer key is a much coveted and important document for each test-taker. Not only will it give candidates an idea about their performance, but will also allow them to calculate their estimated score by comparing their responses from their NEET 2022 OMR sheets with the official answer keys. The score out of 720 will also help them find out the medical colleges and courses they can expect to get admission to.

Once the final NEET 2022 answer keys and results are declared, candidates will not be given the chance to re-evaluation or rechecking of their exam papers. NTA has stated the following reasons for this:

i. The OMRs are machine gradable and are being evaluated through specific software impartial to all.

ii. The candidates are given an opportunity to make the representation on the OMR gradation of their OMR sheets and also given an opportunity to challenge the answer key in case of any doubt.

With over a month passed after the NEET 2022 exam, candidates are getting anxious and eagerly waiting to receive the NEET official answer keys 2022. With no information or update from the officials, students are getting increasingly impatient. 

The NEET 2022 final answer keys and results are expected to be declared after 15 days of releasing the provisional answer keys.

NTA will announce about the release of NEET 2022 official answer tand OMR sheers through notification on the official websites of NTA and NEET. NTA will also send the scanned OMR sheet to candidates by email. Apart from these students are advised to check this page regularly on NEET 2022 answer keys latest updates.

Students often ask if the NEET answer keys released by the coaching centre experts are reliable or not. In our opinion, those answer keys are indeed reliable since the NEET question papers are solved by the subject experts and mentors of the top coaching institutes where lakhs of students take guidance on their NEET preparation. However, these are unofficial answer keys of NEET and the NEET 2022 official answer keys will be released by NTA only.

Despite knowing the login credentials, it often happens that candidates are unable to log in to the NEET official website. There can be multiple reasons for this, which include server error, slow internet connection, or NTA blocking log-in due to security reasons. Hence, in case one faces difficulty in logging in, he/she must check the internet connection first. In case it is fine, then they should contact NTA through phone and email to seek help in the process. 

Candidates need to log in to the NTA NEET website to download their answer keys and NEET 2022 OMR sheet. The login credentials or the mandatory information or fields that have to be entered include the following:

• NEET 2022 Application Number
• Date of Birth
• Security Number

Despite multiple media reports stating that the NEET official answer keys are to be out by August 17 or August 18, there is still no indication by NTA to release this official document yet. However, some NTA officials were quoted saying that the answer keys will be out in the third week of August. Hence, it is likely that the NEET 2022 answer keys may be out by today or tomorrow.

NTA has not yet released the NEET 2022 official answer keys, nor has it announced the date and timing for releasing this important document. It may be expected that the NEET 2022 OMR sheets and answer keys would be released by tonight.

In case the NTA Expert Committee finds one or more NEET 2022 answer key objection to be valid, NTA would give full marks to that question to each and every candidate who attempted that particular question. However, candidates will not be individually intimated about the status of their challenged NEET official answer key 2022. 

NTA has not announced the NEET 2022 answer key challenge procedure or fees yet. The tentative fees, based on last year are as follows:

• NEET Provisional Answer Key Challenge – INR 1,000

• NEET OMR Sheet Response Challenge – INR 200

The exact fee amount will be announced along with the NEET official answer keys 2022.

The NEET recorded response sheet refers to candidates’ OMR sheets on which they had attempted the exam. NTA releases the scanned OMR sheets to ensure transparency, and to help test-takers calculate their NEET scores accurately. By referring to the NEET OMR sheets, candidates will be able to analyse their performance in terms of number of attempts along with the ratio of correct and incorrect responses. 

It is expected that the objection filing window for the NEET 2022 answer key will be open for around three days. Last year, NTA had released NEET official answer keys on October 15 and candidates could submit their objections till October 17. The date may be extended based on candidate requests.

Candidates will have to follow the steps given below to download the NTA NEET answer key 2022 and OMR sheets:

• Visit the official website of NEET 2022 – neet.nta.nic.in

• Log in with NEET 2022 application number and password and date of birth

• Download OMR sheet and set-wise NEET 2022 answer key (provisional)

• Compare the recorded responses from your OMR sheet and answer keys

NTA will send the scanned NEET 2022 OMR sheets or recorded responses to candidates' registered email addresses. Hence, an email from NTA would be the indication of the announcement of the NEET 2022 answer keys. They may download it directly on their inbox or may log in to the official website of NEET 2022 through their application number and password or date of birth along with the security pin to download their OMR sheets. They have to compare the answer options marked in the actual test along with the NEET official answer key 2022 to calculate their estimated score. 

NTA has not announced any update or notification regarding the declaration of the NEET 2022 provisional answer keys yet. As more than half of the day is already over, it can be expected that the exam authorities will announce the update or directly release the NEET official answer keys 2022 by evening.

After submitting the NEET 2022 answer key objection, candidates will be issued a confirmation slip. This slip will carry information on the number of questions or answer keys against which objection is filed and the fee payment confirmation. This NEET 2022 answer key objection slip must be preserved till the final answer keys, or the result is declared. After the release of the final answer keys, test-takers may refer to the confirmation slip to compare the provisional and final keys and take note of whether the keys have remained the same or have been modified by the NTA Expert Committee. 

Based on the previous year's trends, it is expected that the NEET 2022 result will be declared along with the final answer keys within 15 to 20 days of declaring the NEET provisional answer keys 2022.

Based on the NEET 2022 OMR sheet and provisional answer keys, candidates have to calculate their score in the following method by comparing both the documents: 

The NEET 2022 answer key objection fee is likely to be INR 200. Last year, the fee for filing an objection against the NEET OMR sheet was INR 200 and that of the NEET answer key (provisional) was INR 1,000. The objection or challenge submission fees for the NEET 2022 OMR sheets and answer keys may vary this year.

Candidates have to check and analyse the NEET 2022 answer keys and their recorded response or NEET 2022 OMR sheets to calculate their estimated score. They may also compare the official answer keys with the NEET answer keys 2022 released by the coaching institute experts on the day of the exam. In case they find a discrepancy, they may submit objections or challenges against NEET 2022 answer keys.

To challenge a NEET 2022 provisional answer key, candidates will have to follow the steps below:

• Visit the NEET 2022 official website – neet.nta.nic.in

• Click ‘Apply for Answer Key Challenge (s)’

• Select the Test Booklet Code

• Login with your Application Number and Date of Birth and enter SecurityPin as displayed and Submit

• Check the Questions and Answer Options in Sequential Order

• The number next to the Question under the column ‘Correct Option’ stands for the NEET 2022 Answer Key

• To challenge this option, candidates may use any one or more of the Options given in the next four columns by clicking the check box

• Supporting documents can be uploaded as a single PDF file by clicking on the ‘Choose File’ option

• After clicking the desired option, for Physics/Chemistry/Botany/Zoology for NEET (UG) - 2022, ‘Save your Claim’ and move to the next screen

• Click on ‘Save your Claim and Pay Fee Finally’

• After successful payment, applicants will have to download/print the Answer Key challenge receipt

NTA is expected to release the provisional NEET 2022 answer key today, August 19. As per reports, NTA is expected to release the NEET provisional answer keys in the third week of August and the expected tenure is between August 15 and August 21.

NEET 2022 provisional answer keys will likely be released by NTA today. Candidates will have to log in to the NTA NEET 2022 website with their registration credentials and security pin to download their NEET OMR sheets and answer keys. 

Despite multiple media reports hinting towards NTA releasing NEET 2022 answer key on July 29, it was not released on the said date by the authorities. However, the answer keys are expected to be released anytime soon. Candidates must keep an eye on this page, as well as the NTA NEET official website to get the information about the declaration of the NEET 2022 OMR sheet and answer key release.

As per reports, NEET 2022 official answer keys are expected to be released on July 29. The set-wise NEET question papers and OMR sheets will also be released. Based on these documents, test-takers will be able to calculate their estimated scores obtained in the exam. It is expected that the NEET 2022 answer key objection filing window will also open on the same date.

NEET 2022 exam concluded at 5.20 pm.

With just a day left for NEET 2022, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has released an advisory for the candidates. The advisory is the list of tips and exam day guidelines which must be followed on the day of the exam and test takers should take the requisite preparation accordingly.

The NEET 2022 admit card has been released on July 12, after 11.30 AM. Initially, there was a number of technical and server glitches which delayed the process. However, once the system stabilised, students could download the hall ticket smoothly. They have to click on any of the three links provided on the NTA NEET website and enter their application number, date of birth and security pin. They have to fill up a form regarding their recent health and travel updates, after which they would be redirected to the NEET 2022 admit card PDF, which they must download and take several printouts. In case of any difficulty in downloading or to report wrong information or misprint, candidates will have to contact NTA through phone or email.

NEET 2022 admit card will be released on July 12, at 11.30 AM. NTA has announced the schedule in an official notification on July 11.  In the official notification, NTA has stated, “The candidates are required to download their Admit Card of NEET (UG) - 2022 (using their Application No. and Date of Birth) from the website https://neet.nta.nic.in/ w.e.f. 12 July 2022 (11:30 A.M. onwards) and go through the instructions contained therein as well as in the Information Bulletin.”

NEET 2022 postpone demand is still underway in full throttle as aspirants submitted a 19-page Memorandum to the Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Mansukh Mandaviya. The Memorandum carries a compilation of the issues faced by aspirants and the list of reasons for their urge to defer the exam by at least a month. 

After protesting and demanding exam deferment for days, the candidates started their hunger strike on July 5 to intensify the protest. The aspirants now want to meet PM Modi claiming that no one else is hearing their issues. All India Students Dental Association/DENTODONTICS tweeted, "Hunger Strike is going on for #NEETUG2022 issue regarding there postponement of 40 days & seeking permission from PM". A student has tweeted, "Listen to the genuine concerns of neet aspirants @narendramodi ji @dpradhanbjp ji and @DG_NTA. Extend neet ug by 40 days we should get proper time for preparation."

Some of the NEET aspirants have decided to go on a hunger strike from July 5, 10 am onwards. They have taken this decision as a mark of protest against Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's statement against NEET 2022 postponement. The Minister had stated,  “Students are always anxious. All our senior principals are here, educationists are here, they face this problem every month." Students have responded with the Tweet, "#NEETUGChaloMODIJIAwas sir meet us or we are coming to meet you regarding our problem about neet ug 2022. and will do hunger strike on 5th of july 2022 @PMOIndia @narendramodi".  

NTA has announced the NEET 2022 advance city allotment information for the candidates on June 28. Candidates have to log in with their NEET 2022 application number and date of birth to check the city in which their NEET 2022 exam centre has been allotted. However, this is not an admit card. Clarifying this, NTA has stated, “This is NOT the admit card for NEET (UG) – 2022. This is an advance information for allotment of Centre City, to facilitate the candidate. The Admit Card shall be issued later.”

Responding to an RTI request of a candidate, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has clearly stated that the NEET 2022 exam will be conducted on July 17, as per the stipulated date and time. The RTI response says, "The NEET (UG) 2022 examination stands (as on date) to be conducted on 17 July 2022, keeping in view of the academic interest of millions of students who have filled up application form for this exam." The response has been given by Binod Kumar Sahu, Joint Director, NTA. This has confirmed the fact that NTA will not postpone the exam despite the huge demands from candidates. 

As the dates of CUET 2022 have been announced, starting from July 15, candidates taking both CUET and NEET have intensified the demand to postpone the latter. A new campaign has been launched on June 23 at 4 pm. Students are also posting on Twitter with the demand to defer the exam by four to six weeks. The hashtag #DharmendraPradhanHelpUs is trending on Twitter. Moreover, to raise students' demands for a month's delay in NEET UG exams, Lok Sabha Member Gopal Shetty will meet Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to discuss the matter. 

The NTA notice claiming NEET 2022 to be postponed to September 4 has been quashed by the Government. The Press Information Bureau (PIB) has confirmed that the NTA notice dated June 19 is fake. PIB's Twitter handle PIB Fact Check has clarified it through a Tweet on June 21. The Tweet said, "A notice is doing rounds on social media claiming that the National Testing Agency (NTA) has rescheduled the NEET (UG) for 4th September 2022 instead of 17th July 2022. This notice is #fake. @DG_NTA has not issued any such notice."

As the demand to postpone NEET 2022 intensifies, #JusticeforNEETUG trends on social media platforms. Some of the parents of NEET 2022 aspirants have formed a  a national-level parents' association and written a fresh letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. An excerpt of the letter says, "The academic session for this batch will not start until February 2023 as per the recent notification. Then why students are being forced to appear for the exam when there will be no impact on their academic session. Several other entrance exams are also scheduled during this time so it will be very difficult for students to commute as they will be travelling to other cities to appear for these exams."

A fake NTA notice stating NEET 2022 postponed to September 4 has been doing the rounds on social media. Amid massive student protests, this notification is raising false hopes as well as confusion among candidates. There is no such information or notice on the official websites of NTA NEET 2022, which are nta.ac.in and neet.nta.ac.in. Students are advised to crosscheck each information or notice that they come across on any unofficial platforms or mediums with that of the official.

NEET 2022 application correction facility has been reopened by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on June 14. Applicants can make change in the candidate category section in the application form. The facility is available for three days, from June 14 to June 16, 9 pm. In the official notification, NTA has stated, “It has been decided to provide another opportunity to the candidates to correct/change their Category themselves in their respective Online Application Forms for NEET (UG) – 2022.” In case candidates are unable to get the Category Certificate from the competent authority, they have to upload the Self Declaration Form, which can be obtained from the NEET 2022 official website. In case the category change incurs additional fee, candidates need to pay that to ensure that the category change is accepted by NTA.

NEET 2022 admit card is expected to be released in the first week of June. Only those candidates, who have successfully completed the application process by paying the requisite application fee will be issued the admit cards or the hall tickets. The NEET admit card will be issued in online mode only and candidates will have to log in with their application number and password to download the admit card. The admit card of NEET will carry information such as exam date and time, exam centre address, exam day guidelines along with the candidates' personal details. On the day of the exam, candidates must carry the NEET 2022 admit card or hall ticket after pasting their photograph and getting their parents/guardians' signature on the same. 

The NEET 2022 application data states that over 18 lakh candidates have applied for the exam. Last year, the total number of applications received for this exam was 16.14 lakh. There is above 12 per cent increase in the number of applications in NEET UG 2022 registrations. As per reports, the number of candidates opting for regional languages has also increased substantially. 

NEET 2022 application correction window has been opened on May 24 by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The last date to edit or make corrections in the NEET 2022 application form is May 27, 9 pm. In an official notification released on May 24, NTA has stated, “In view of the numerous representations received from the candidates regarding allowing them to edit/modify their particulars in the Online Application Form of NEET (UG) – 2022, National Testing Agency has decided to provide an opportunity to the candidates for modifying their particulars in the Online Application Form of NEET (UG) – 2022.”

The NEET 2022 application correction window is expected to open soon. It is expected that the NEET application correction window will open in the last week of May. Candidates who have successfully submitted the application form and paid the application fee will be eligible to make corrections or changes to the NEET application form 2022. There will be no fees levied for making changes in the application form. Some fields will not be editable, which are nationality, mobile number and email address. 

NTA has concluded the NEET 2022 application process on May 20, as per the schedule. The application submission window ended at 9 pm and the application fee could be paid till 11.50 pm. It is estimated that over 16 lakh candidates have applied for the exam. NTA is yet to release the number of applicants for the exam. This year, the total number of applicants is expected to be higher as compared to previous years since the upper age limit criterion has been removed from the NEET eligibility criteria. The NEET 2022 application correction window is also expected to open soon.

NTA has further extended the NEET 2022 application deadline till May 20, 9 pm. The application fee can be paid till 11.50 pm on the same day. NTA's official notification reads, "In continuation of the Public Notices dated: 01 May 2022 and 05 May 2022, and in view of the request received from the Office of Director General Armed Forces Medical Services, it has been decided to further extend the last date for submission of Application Forms of NEET (UG) - 2022."

It has been decided by the Director-General, Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) that the scores of NEET (UG) will be used for the selection of female candidates only for admission to the BSc (Nursing) Course 2022 at six Nursing colleges of the AFMS.

NEET 2022 application date has been extended from May 6 to May 15, 9 pm. The application fee has to be paid by the same date, by 11.50 pm. Originally, the last date to apply and pay the application fee for NEET 2022 were May 6 and May 7 respectively. NTA has extended the application deadline in order to let Nursing aspirants for AFMS colleges to submit their applications, since these colleges would accept NEET scores this year onwards. 

This year, the NEET 2022 eligibility criteria has undergone change in terms of the upper age limit. The upper age limit has been scrapped for all the candidate categories. However, the lower age limit remains 17 years. Hence, candidates applying for NEET 2022 should be at least 17 years of age as on December 31, 2022. The lower age limit is the same for candidates across categories.

The Ministry of Education and NTA had been mulling over the idea of conducting NEET twice a year. However, the notification has clarified that the exam will be conducted only once. The timing of the exam is 2 pm to 5.20 pm. Hence, candidates must ensure a better and stronger preparation strategy to ensure a high score, as they have only one chance in a year to crack the exam and grab a coveted seat.

The NEET 2022 exam will be conducted in 14 cities abroad. NEET was conducted in two international cities of Dubai and Kuwait for the first time last year. This year, 12 more cities have been added where the international NEET 2022 exam centres will be located. The list is given in the table below:

NEET 2022 exam centres will be located in 543 cities across India and 14 cities abroad. As compared to last year, there has been a substantial increase. Till 2020, NEET exam centres were located only in India. Last year, the exam was conducted in two international cities – Dubai and Kuwait. This year, the international exam cities for NEET will be located across South East Asia, UAE and Africa.

The duration of NEET 2022 has been increased by 20 minutes, hence the total duration of the exam is now 200 minutes instead of 180 minutes. The exam will be conducted from 2 pm to 5.20 pm. However, there will not be any break in between and candidates will have to attempt the NEET 2022 question paper at one go and submit the test booklet/OMR sheet to the individual before leaving the exam hall.

Unlike last year, the NEET 2022 registration process was conducted in a single phase. All the details, including the parents'/guardian's occupation and annual family income, had to be entered within the NEET application form 2022 which has been released on April 6. Last year, candidates had to enter this information in the second phase of registration, which was conducted after the exam and before the declaration of the result. Candidates must be careful about entering the details and crosscheck each information before final submission and the payment of the application fee.  

The NEET 2022 notification was released by NTA on April 6 evening. Aspirants were waiting for the official notification since March 31, which was the expected date as per media reports.

The NEET 2022 application fee has been increased by INR 100 for each category. For candidates who would select an international NEET 2022 exam centre, the application fee to be paid is INR 8,500. The application fee is given in the table below.

The NEET 2022 application process started on April 6. The application window was open for a month. While the registration process has to be completed by May 6, 11.50 pm, the application fee had to be paid by May 7, 11.50 pm.
