Amid demands to postpone the entrance examination, the National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the NEET 2022 exam as per schedule i.e. on July 17, read here to know more.

NEET 2022 exam was held on July 17 from 2 pm to 5.20 pm. As per official data, nearly 95% of aspirants appeared in the entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

A total of 18,72,341 candidates registered for NEET 2022 which was conducted in an offline mode and was a Paper Pencil Based Test (PBT). The NEET examination was conducted in as many as 3570 exam centres in 497 cities in India and 14 cities outside India. Outside India, the exam was conducted in Manama, Riyadh, Lagos cities, Muscat, Sharjah, Kuwait City, Doha, Kuala Lampur, Singapore, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Colombo, Kathmandu, and Bangkok.

Jaipur saw the maximum number of test-takers as a total of 52,351 candidates appeared in the exam through Jaipur centres.

The exam was of moderate to tough difficulty level and Physics was the toughest and lengthiest. The exam was conducted despite massive protests and demands to postpone the examination. Students and their parents were demanding exam deferment by 40 to 60 days. At the last moment, the students also approached the Delhi High Court, but the court dismissed the plea.

NTA conducts NEET for admission to various undergraduate medical courses including MBBS, BDS, BSc Nursing, AYUSH, Veterinary, and other medical/paramedical courses in India. The exam is conducted in 13 languages and more than 15 lakh candidates appear for the NEET exam every year.
