NEET Official Answer Key 2022 Live: Download OMR Sheet and Challenge Answer Key

NTA is expected to release the provisional NEET 2022 answer key today, August 19. As per reports, NTA is expected to release the NEET provisional answer keys in the third week of August.

So far NTA has not indicated the date or timing of releasing the NEET 2022 provisional answer key. Based on the tentative date, it may be expected that the NEET official answer key 2022 will be released today by late evening. 

After NTA releases the provisional NEET 2022 answer keys, candidates need to focus on the following activities or events:

• Check the NEET 2022 OMR sheets and provisional answer keys
• Calculate the aggregate score based on the marking scheme
• Decide whether to file objection against OMR sheet or answer keys
• If a candidate decides to file objection or challenge, he/she should send the email to NTA in the prescribed format within the given deadline and paying the requisite fee
• In case a candidate decides not to file objections, then he/she needs to wait for the final answer keys and result of NEET 2022. 

Once the final NEET 2022 answer keys and results are declared, candidates will not be given the chance to re-evaluation or rechecking of their exam papers. NTA has stated the following reasons for this:

i. The OMRs are machine gradable and are being evaluated through specific software impartial to all.

ii. The candidates are given an opportunity to make the representation on the OMR gradation of their OMR sheets and also given an opportunity to challenge the answer key in case of any doubt.

Based on the NEET 2022 OMR sheet and provisional answer keys, candidates have to calculate their score in the following method by comparing both the documents: 

According to some media reports, the NEET 2022 answer keys may not be released today, August 18. Apparently, NTA officials have stated that the NEET provisional answer keys will be released by this week, i.e. by August 20. 

To download the NEET 2022 OMR sheet or provisional answer keys, candidates will have to log in through their NEET 2022 application number and password. In case a candidate has forgotten his/her password, he/she has to follow the steps given below to retrieve the password:

• Log in with Date of Birth
• Click on the Forgot Password link
• Enter the mandatory details
• New password will be sent to the registered email address

NEET 2022 underwent several changes in terms of exam pattern, application fee, centres, tie-breaking formula, etc. These changes are as follows:

• The duration of NEET has been increased by 20 minutes. Instead of three hours, the exam will now be conducted for three hours and 20 minutes.

• The application fee across candidate categories has been increased by INR 100.

• The registration process will not be conducted over two phases.

• The number of exam cities has increased to 543 in India and 14 abroad.

• Age factor re-introduced in the tie-breaking formula.

In case of two or more candidates obtain equal marks/percentile scores in the NEET 2022, the inter-se-merit will be determined as follows:

a. Candidate obtaining higher marks/percentile score in Biology (Botany & Zoology) in the test, followed by,

b. Candidate obtaining higher marks/percentile score in Chemistry in the test, followed by,

c. Candidate obtaining higher marks/percentile score in Physics in the test, followed by,

d. Candidate with less proportion of the number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in all the subjects in the test,

e. Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Biology (Botany & Zoology) in the test, followed by

f. Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Chemistry in the test, followed by

g. Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Physics in the test, followed by

h. Candidate older in age, followed by

i. Application number in ascending order

NTA will evaluate the NEET 2022 Answer Sheets of candidates using standard procedure and the result will be displayed on the official website of NEET. Candidates will have to log in to download their scorecards. NTA will prepare the Merit List/ All India Rank (AIR) as per Qualifying Criteria and other norms as well as the relevant regulations/ guidelines of the counselling authorities.

NTA would provide percentiles of candidates along with scores out of 720. The percentile would be calculated based on the following formula.

NEET Percentile = 100 x Number of candidates with their raw score equal to/ less than the candidate

                                                       Total number of candidates who appeared for NEET

Based on the previous year's trends, it is expected that the NEET 2022 result will be declared along with the final answer keys within 15 to 20 days of declaring the NEET provisional answer keys 2022.

NEET 2022 provisional answer keys will likely be released by NTA today. Candidates will have to log in to the NTA NEET 2022 website with their registration credentials and security pin to download their NEET OMR sheets and answer keys. 

As per the NEET 2022 analysis, the difficulty level of the exam was moderate to tough. The experts opined that the test was slightly tougher than last year but almost at the same level. While Physics was the toughest section, Biology was the easiest section despite having the highest weightage. Given the moderate difficulty level and high number of test takers, it may be estimated that this year the NEET cutoff would be slightly higher than that of last year.

NEET 2022 official answer keys are expected to be declared by NTA today, but it may be delayed till late evening or night. Students must keep visiting this page to keep an eye on the NEET provisional answer key 2022.

NTA will announce the NEET 2022 cutoff scores along with the result and scorecard. The category-wise cutoff percentiles are fixed and are brought in the table below.

NEET 2022 question paper carried a total of 200 questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Out of this, candidates had to attempt 180 questions. Test takers had the option to not attempt five questions from each subject. No extra marks would be awarded for extra questions attempted by candidates. 

A total of 91,927 MBBS, 27,698 BDS, 52,720 AYSH seats, and 603 BVSc &AH seats will be offered through NEET scores. As per the latest report by the National Medical Council (NMC), there are 612 medical and 317 dental colleges in India. Over the past couple of years, a number of medical colleges have been established and are planned to be founded in the coming years. 

Candidates will be issued a confirmation slip after submitting the NEET 2022 answer key objection. This slip will carry information on the number of questions or answer keys against which objection is filed and the fee payment confirmation. This NEET 2022 answer key objection slip must be preserved till the final answer keys, or the result is declared. After the release of the final answer keys, test-takers may refer to the confirmation slip to compare the provisional and final keys and take note of whether the keys have remained the same or have been modified by the NTA Expert Committee. 

This year, 18.72 lakh candidates applied for the NEET 2022 exam which recorded 95 per cent attendance on the day of the exam. In terms of the number of applicants and test takers, NEET 2022 has recorded the highest number as compared to the past five years. The NEET 2022 final answer keys will be released by NTA approximately within a month of releasing the provisional answer keys. Taking this into account, it would be safe to assume that the NEET 2022 result and final answer keys will be released in the first week of September.

Based on the analysis of the past five years of NEET official answer key release, it can be observed that NTA releases the provisional answer keys within two to three weeks of conducting the exam. Last year, the NEET 2021 provisional answer keys were released after a month of the exam. The table below brings the year-wise dates of releasing the answer keys of NEET.

NTA has not stated any specific date for declaring the NEET official answer keys 2022. Based on the media reports, it can be estimated that the NEET 2022 answer keys may be released today. Incidentally, today marks the one month completion of NEET 2022, held on July 17.

NEET 2022 was conducted in 13 languages including English. The answer keys for the regional language NEET papers will also be declared by NTA. The 13 languages in which the NEET 2022 exam was conducted are as follows:

Along with the NEET 2022 official answer keys, NTA will release the question paper PDFs of the exam across the sets, codes and languages. Students or aspirants for the next year may download the NEET 2022 question paper PDF for free for preparation and practice purposes.

NTA will release as many as 24 NEET 2022 answer key documents. Since there were four NEET 2022 question paper sets, which six sub-sets, the answer keys will be separate for all the 24 question papers. The NEET 2022 question paper sets were Q (Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4, Q5, Q6), R (R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6), S (S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S6) and T (T1, T2, T3, T4, T5, T6).

The information would be uploaded in the form of a PDF document under the 'Public Notice' or 'Notice Board Archive' sections. Candidates will have to download the notice and follow the given procedure and schedule.

A total of 18.72 lakh candidates had applied for NEET 2022, which is the highest number in the past five years. According to NTA, the exam recorded 95 per cent attendance. With the release of the NTA NEET answer key 2022, over 18 lakh candidates will receive their OMR sheets and calculate their estimated scores.

Candidates will have to follow the steps given below to download the NTA NEET answer key 2022:

• Log in with NEET 2022 application number and password and date of birth

• Download OMR sheet and set-wise NEET 2022 answer key (provisional)

• Compare the recorded responses from your OMR sheet and answer keys

NTA will send the scanned NEET 2022 OMR sheets or recorded responses to candidates' registered email addresses. They may download it directly on their inbox, or may log in to the official website of NEET 2022 through their application number and password or date of birth along with the security pin to download their OMR sheets. They have to compare the answer options marked in the actual test along with the NEET official answer key 2022 to calculate their estimated score. 

NTA would not refund the NEET 2022 answer key or OMR sheet recorded response objection filing fees. Hence, candidates must utilise this opportunity judiciously and should only submit objections against the NEET official answer key 2022 if they have the necessary proof or document to substantiate their claims. Even though the amount would not be refunded, if the objection is found to be valid, they would get the marks for that particular question which would reflect in their NEET 2022 result.

In case the NTA Expert Committee finds one or more NEET 2022 answer key objection to be valid, NTA would give full marks to that question to each and every candidate who attempted that particular question. However, candidates will not be individually intimated about the status of their challenged NEET official answer key 2022. 

The NEET 2022 final answer key will be released on the same date as that of the result. The final answer key of NEET will be computed based on the objections and their analysis by the Expert Panelists. The result will also be computed based on the final answer keys of NEET 2022. 

NTA states that no individual candidate will be informed about the acceptance/non-acceptance of his/her challenge. They may check and analyse the differences in the final NEET 2022 answer keys that would be released along with the result.

Candidates will have to follow the procedure given below to challenge the NEET 2022 official answer key:

• Visit the NEET 2022 official website – neet.nta.nic.in

• Click ‘Apply for Answer Key Challenge (s)’

• Select the Test Booklet Code

• Login with your Application Number and Date of Birth and enter SecurityPin as displayed and Submit

• Check the Questions and Answer Options in Sequential Order

• The number next to the Question under the column ‘Correct Option’ stands for the NEET 2022 Answer Key

• To challenge this option, candidates may use any one or more of the Options given in the next four columns by clicking the check box

• Supporting documents can be uploaded as a single PDF file by clicking on the ‘Choose File’ option

• After clicking the desired option, for Physics/Chemistry/Botany/Zoology for NEET (UG) - 2022, ‘Save your Claim’ and move to the next screen

• Click on ‘Save your Claim and Pay Fee Finally’

• After successful payment, applicants will have to download/print the Answer Key challenge receipt

Candidates have to pay the NEET 2022 answer key challenge fee in online mode only. No other modes of payment (offline, such as cash, cheque or Demand Draft) will be applicable. The accepted modes of payment are Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking and Paytm. NTA had stated, "No challenge will be entertained without receipt of the processing fee online. The Challenges will not be accepted through any other mode (than online)."

Based on past years' trends, it has been observed that NTA provides a window of three days for candidates to submit challenges or objections against the NEET official answer keys. To file objections, test-takers need to send email in the given format along with the details of the NEET question paper set, question number and correct answer option according to them. They must also send an explanation or a detailed solution for the answers to justify their objection. 

According to NTA, NEET 2022 answer key challenges made by the candidates will be verified by the exam authorities with the help of a panel of subject experts. If found correct, the answer key will be revised accordingly. Based on the revised Final Answer Key, the NEET 2022 result will be prepared and declared. 

The NTA will display the Provisional Answer Key of the questions, giving an opportunity to the candidates to challenge, in case of any doubt in the answer key published on the website - neet.nta.nic.in. Candidates will be given an opportunity to make an online challenge against the provisional NEET Answer Key 2022 by paying a non-refundable processing fee of INR 200 per
answer challenged, within the specified period. 

Candidates will have to follow the steps given below to download the NTA NEET answer key 2022 and OMR sheets:

• Visit the official website of NEET 2022 – neet.nta.nic.in

• Log in with NEET 2022 application number and password and date of birth

• Download OMR sheet and set-wise NEET 2022 answer key (provisional)

• Compare the recorded responses from your OMR sheet and answer keys

After NEET 2022 was conducted on July 17, 2 pm to 5.20 pm, experts from top coaching institutes released set-wise NEET 2022 answer keys and solutions. However, these are unofficial answer keys and should be used for reference purpose only. Upon the release of the NEET 2022 official answer keys, candidates can refer to the unofficial answer keys and compare. In case of a difference, they may raise objections.

After receiving the NTA NEET 2022 official answer keys (provisional), test-takers will have to calculate their scores based on the following marking scheme:

• +4 for each correct response

• -1 for each incorrect response

• 0 marks for unattempted or extra

NTA has not announced the NEET 2022 answer key challenge procedure or fees yet. The tentative fees, based on last year are as follows:

• NEET Provisional Answer Key Challenge – INR 1,000

• NEET OMR Sheet Response Challenge – INR 200

It is expected that the objection filing window for the NEET 2022 answer key will be open for around three days. Last year, NTA had released NEET official answer keys on October 15 and candidates could submit their objections till October 17. The date may be extended based on candidate requests.

The NEET recorded response sheet refers to candidates’ OMR sheets on which they had attempted the exam. NTA releases the scanned OMR sheets to ensure transparency, and to help test-takers calculate their NEET scores accurately. By referring to the NEET OMR sheets, candidates will be able to analyse their performance in terms of number of attempts along with the ratio of correct and incorrect responses. 

NTA will release candidates’ recorded responses or the NEET 2022 OMR sheets along with the NEET provisional answer keys. Based on both data, they have to calculate their estimated score in NEET 2022.
