NEET UG 2022: Were the results better or worse as compared to last year?

National Testing Agency (NTA) declared the NEET UG 2022 results yesterday night, where a total of 993069 candiates have qualified this year. If we compare the results with last year, more candidates regisered for NEET 2022 as compared to the candidates registered for NEET 2021 and last year 771500 candidates qualified for the exam.

If we also compare the top score of this year and last year, than last year's top score was 720/720 and a total of 3 NEET 2021 candidates obtained the highest marks 720. These students' names are - Mrinal Kutteri, Tanmay Gupta, and Karthika G Nair. However, in NEET 2022, four students have scored top score of 715/720 and there names are - Tanishka, Vatsa Ashish Batra, Hrishikesh Nagbhushan Gangule and Rucha Pawashe who secured AIR 1, 2, 3 and 4 respectively.

NEET 2022 was conducted on July 17 in 13 languages (Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu). The exam was held at 3570 different centres located in 497 cities throughout the country including 14 Cities outside India. The examination was also conducted for the first time in Abu Dhabi, Bangkok, Colombo, Doha, Kathmandu, Kuala Lumpur, Lagos, Manama, Muscat, Riyadh, Sharjah, Singapore Dubai and Kuwait City.

Now, after result declaration, the NEET 2022 counselling is expected to start soon. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct NEET 2022 counselling for 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats and respective state authorities will conduct counselling for 85% state quota seats.
