NIT Calicut Placements 2022: Over 200 companies over jobs to 1,138 BTech grads

NIT-C placements 2021 also recorded an overwhelming response from recruiters with nearly 714 placements and an average salary of INR 11 LPA. However, this time, the average salary package stood at INR 12.1 LPA.

NIT Calicut Placements 2022: The National Institute of Technology Calicut (NIT-C) witnessed a record-breaking placement season this year. Over 200 firms offered jobs to 1,138 students. According to an official press note, the technology institute conducted the placement drive via virtual mode. Four students from the computer science and engineering branch received the highest offer at INR 67.6 lakh per annum (LPA) from Traceable AI.

Average salary package stood at INR 12.1 LPA

NIT-C placements 2021 also recorded an overwhelming response from recruiters with nearly 714 placements and an average salary of INR 11 LPA. However, this time, the average salary package stood at INR 12.1 LPA.

Talking about the record-breaking placement season, V Sajith, Professor and Chairperson, Centre for Career Development, NIT-C, said that the overall percentage of placement for BTech programmes was 96% with an average salary of INR12.6 LPA, compared to 87% the previous year. With 100% placements and an average salary of INR 20 LPA, students of BTech programme in computer science and engineering continued to be the most sought-after by firms.

Electronics and communication engineering branch followed the trail with 98% placement and an average salary of INR 15 LPA. Nearly 97% of the students in electrical and electronics engineering secured placement with an average salary of INR 12 LPA.

Other BTech branches such as mechanical engineering witnessed 98% placement,  production recorded 97% recruitment followed by chemical with 87%, civil engineering 88%, engineering physics 100% and biotechnology 84%.

Improved placements among MTech students

Placements among postgraduate programmes also improved remarkably compared to the previous year. The placement for MTech programmes was 82% with an average salary of INR 11 LPA. An MTech computer science student received a job offer for INR 33 LPA package. Moreover, this year MCA students also received 98% placement.
