The equipment ‘CHNS Analyser’ is used for testing in the areas of pharmaceuticals, food and agricultural industries, coal, polymers, explosives and building materials, among others.  

As per a report published in The Hindu, National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal, Director NV Ramana Rao inaugurated a high-end research equipment called ‘CHNS Analyser’ at the Department of Civil Engineering and Central Research Instrumentation Facility (CRIF). 

The institute organised a workshop to demonstrate ‘CHNS Analyser’ equipment which is used to conduct elemental analysis of carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen and sulphur percentages in a given sample. The equipment is used for testing in the areas of pharmaceuticals, food and agricultural industries, coal, polymers, explosives and building materials, among others. It will help augment the interdisciplinary research activity.  

3-day tech festival to begin from December 16 

Meanwhile, it was announced that a three-day annual technical festival called TECHNOZION 2022 will start at NIT Warangal from December 16. The festival seeks to provide a platform for budding engineers and scientists from all over the world to interact, share and gain knowledge in various fields of science and technology. 

Student tests positive for H1N1 at NIT Warangal 

Meanwhile, a student of the institute has tested positive for swine flu. The patient complained of flu and fever after which he was admitted to a private hospital in Hanamkonda where the doctors confirmed that he was infected with H1N1. Meanwhile, the institute stated. “The student who tested positive for H1N1 is being treated at a private hospital in Hanamkonda and is doing well. Sanitisation is being done on the hostel premises and in classrooms.” The hospital management has alerted the district medical and health officials, who in turn informed the NIT management and the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation.
