Research centres at National Law University (NLU) Delhi have commenced digital courses on forensics, mental health, and technology law and policy.
National Law University (NLU) Delhi's research centres Project39A and Centre for Communication Governance (CCG) have started digital courses on forensics, mental health, and technology law and policy.
"Project 39A in collaboration with Eleos Justice at Monash University has developed a course on forensic mental health and criminal justice. This four-week course explores the legal and forensic mental health aspects in three broad areas - fitness to stand trial, the defence of insanity, and the role of mental health in capital punishment cases. The course also has a comparative law element with experts from the UK and Australia," says NLU Delhi.
Maitreyi Misra, the founding member of Project 39A, said, “In the course of our work, we’ve realised the barriers that a lack of interdisciplinary learning was creating for students and practitioners of law. (Thus, the courses) have been designed with the purpose of getting the different fields to speak to each other, rather than at each other in the courtroom. We have forensic scientists and forensic psychiatrists speaking to lawyers and the law, which enhances the learning experience but also has real-world consequences in terms of the application to legal practice,” as reported by NDTV.
NLU Delhi's CCG has launched the Technology Law and Policy Course
"The Technology Law and Policy Certificate Course is an exciting opportunity to learn the legal, public policy and socio-political contours of cyberspace, and technology law and policy. Curated and prepared by expert academics and researchers at CCG and NLU Delhi,
the course will allow students the opportunity to interact and learn from renowned policy practitioners and experienced professionals in the domain of technology law and policy," said the institute.
“The course is designed to help students learn the legal, public policy and socio-political contours of cyberspace, and technology law and policy and their implications for our society. Our aim is to build the capacity of young professionals, students and stakeholders in the ecosystem around technology law and policy issues,” said Daniel Mathew, Director, CCG, NLU Delhi.
