Nitte Mahalinga Adyanthaya Memorial Institute of Technology (NMAMIT) to offer programme in the subjects of physics, mathematics and chemistry with effect from the 2021-22 academic year.
Nitte Mahalinga Adyanthaya Memorial Institute of Technology (NMAMIT), Udupi, has been granted permission from Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, Karnataka, to start a four-year BSc (Honors) programme in the subjects of physics, mathematics and chemistry with effect from the 2021-22 academic year.
The programme offered is in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) where students opt for a specialisation (major) in physics/ chemistry/mathematics after three semesters. The program being multi-disciplinary in nature, students will also study skill-based and industry-oriented topics from engineering Science, besides subjects in the emerging fields of electronics and computer science such as artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), robotics, machine learning, cyber security and data science. The third and fourth year of the programme deals with research projects and internships.
Admission to NMAMIT BSc (Honours) course through KEA
Admission to the programme will be through the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) and the fee fixed by VTU is INR 60,000 per annum. Unfilled seats after the KEA allotment will be reverted to the management.
The institute already offers 19 courses across three streams of engineering, business and management studies and information technology and software. The popular programmes at the institute include BE/BTech, MBA/PGDM, MCA and ME/MTech. The institute organised its fresher’s orientation 2021-22 recently at Sambhram Auditorium, NET campus, Nitte. N Shashi Kumar IPS, Commissioner of Police, Mangaluru, was the chief guest on the occasion.
