NMC advises due diligence before taking admission to St Tereza University
The National Medical Commission (NMC) has warned the Indian students seeking admission to St Tereza University, Yerevan and advised them to take precautions and due diligence.
After receiving the information from the Ambassador of India, Armenia, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has advised the Indian students who are seeking admission to St Tereza University, Yerevan to take precautions and do due diligence before taking admission.
NMC notification reads, "In this regard, the Ambassador of India, Armenia has informed the NMC that the Ministry of Education of Armenia vide order No. 291-A/2 dated 18.02.2022 (Copy enclosed) has terminated the licence issued to St. Tereza Medical University for their Bachelor's and Master's education program."
"In view of the above, Indian students are once again advised to take precautions and do due diligence before taking admission in this university," added the notification.
Last month also, NMC had issued an advisory for students seeking admission to medical colleges of Kyrgyzstan and other foreign countries to be extra careful while applying to these courses.
Covid-19 pandemic, Russia-Ukraine war jeopardise future of many Indian medical students
Many Indian medical students who were studying in the universities of China and Ukraine are finding their future uncertain due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war. Also, Prime Minister Modi had highlighted that Indian students are going to study medicine in small countries like Ukraine hence state governments must devise plans for land allotment for medical education.
NMC has also said today that medical colleges applying for an increase of PG seats either broad speciality (MD/MS) or super speciality (DM/MCh) and MBBS seats should have received LOP.
